The door seal squeak was driving me crazy and I tried everything so i used a little electrical tape and no more squeak.

Clean the painted surface on the door where it contacts the seal on the cab. Get some matte electrical tape (not shinny) run it along the top and side edge of the door where the metal of the door comes in contact with the door seal on the cab. Cut the ends with a scissor and where you have to make the turn from the top to the side use a heat gun or blow drier and it should bend easily. If you take your time and run the tape straight you wont even notice it is there.

This is awesome! I need to try this. The fj cruiser I had squeaked too. These damn pillar less designs are great until you actually drive it. Haha

Mine has been driving me nuts for a while now too, just seems to be the rear doors. Front driver and passenger are fine. I tried cleaning it like crazy also, looks like ill try this and see whats up.

It was 3m matte finish, I guess any type will work but the matte was less noticeable.

I'm gonna wait for warmer weather because electrical tape sticks better that way, but yea 3m super 33 is the stickiest, and awesome info btw

Are your squeaks wind-related or more mechanical when going over bumps? I've got an annoying noise that only happens at highway speeds on windy days - but long trips are miserable when you know every gust is going to set off that whistle!

Wiping the seal and frame with armor-all fixed the squeaking for me.

Mechanical - from flex in the body and movement of the doors against the cab openings.

Could your noise be the grille whistle or the windsheild molding whistle? Both have been covered here on TW. Try masking tape over the seals in different areas to isolate the cause.

I thought you were supposed to adjust the doors if they squeak? :notsure:

I find on my drivers side the window that the sticks and comes off the seal. It drives me crazy. It's been going on since the Fall and I thought that maybe it was just wind noise. Well, we all know there is a certain noise when it comes to wind noise. I haven't noticed it on the passenger side, well I've never sat on a passenger side and let someone else drive.

Mine was also making a noise and I took it back to the dealer. They had to adjust the passenger door. No more noise. Covered under warranty. Was the door seal, which I knew but tried to fix it myself and it kept making the noise. Maybe your door needs adjusted. Putting tape may stop it, but maybe your door also needs adjusted.

dielectric grease might have helped. Most manufacturers usually suggest it for weather strips, although I have not looked to see what Toyota recommends. Little dab here and spread it along.. and keep it pretty thin.

I thought of this, but I figured it would probably become filth ridden grease in time which would then get on my interior and clothes

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I second TXFireman, I've done this and it works great. It also keeps your door from freezing shut after freezing rain. Actually I used vacuum grease, but dielectric I assume would work just as well. Message it into the rubber and then wipe it off with a clean rag. The grease gets into the rubber and stays there for quite a while. The rub off keeps it from getting it on your clothes.

I tried several different solutions, including repeated cleaning, applying wax, frictionless tape, etc. and the creaking would always come back after a few weeks. Eventually I tried some stuff called Factory Team Silicone Differential Fluid (5000 cst) and the stuff worked great! I apply it 1x per year and have been squeak free for the past 3 years. I figured I’d post this solution in the hope that I can help others avoid the frustration of trial and error with some of the other proposed solutions.
