We have a 2006 Tacoma on the lot that is driving me nuts. If the vehicle is running and the drivers door is opened. The door locks will cycle from lock to unlock continuously.
But if the key is in the ignition, key in run position but not running. They do not do it.
If the key is out of the ignition they don't do it either.? Any suggestion out there as to what might be causing this to happen ?

There is a short in the system........my '13 is programed so that when the key is in the ignition and you try to lock the doors with the electric button on the arm rest it will quickly cycle to lock, then unlock in an instant. This is to keep you from locking the keys in the truck. What they didn't figure out tho is that if the keys are not in the ignition, but still in the truck say on the seat or on the dash, the truck will lock and the keys are still inside and you are screwed. A good reason to have a cheap non computer key made and wired under the vehicle
