So I screwed up a bit. Installed the OEM+ Audio setup last night, rolling into this morning.

When putting the back door back on, I hooked the two cables (green and white) into the back of the door, but... I didn't set the plastic parts into the holder/slot properly. Ugh.

So of course I put the panel back on and closed the door, but now it won't properly unlock so I can't get the door open (using either the inside or outside handle) since it is still locked. The actual manual lock switch above the inside door handle doesn't want to move.

And with the door being closed, I can't just pull the panel off and redo it (that would be super easy... Lol).

So am I screwed and have to pay the dealer to do it, or is there some trick I don't know about?

Someone else just had this issue. One guy suggested rolling down the window and fiddling with both the inside and outside handles at the same time.

You can still open it from the inside. Pull the handle about an inch beyond where it stops. You won't break it and the door will open. Remove the interior panel and pop the cable housings back into their brackets. I did the same thing on one of my back doors installing the OEM audio kit.

Edit: Pulling the handle beyond where it normally stops removes slack in the cable since the housing isn't snapped into the bracket.

Not working. In my truck trying as I'm typing.

I think it is because both the door lock and door handle cables are unattached. It's like the door is never unlocking so the handle won't do it no matter how far you pull it.

Edit for clarity: the ball is in the small socket, but the plastic colored head part isn't in the slot on the back of the handle/lock bracket.

Still poking at it but no luck so far.

ahh gotcha. skimmed over the part about both cables not being clipped in. @PS-RagE can give you some insight about popping out the interior handle. then you can manually pull both cables. he mentioned it in the thread posted somewhere above. all is not lost.

Awesome, hope to hear the chime-in.

Can't wait to get this fixed.

Side note:. New system and Raammat/Ensolite sounds kick ass. Well worth the money.

If your hitting unlock on the door, the latch should unlock no matter what as that mechanism is built into the latch/motor itself. The cable runs to the handle as a means of manually locking/unlocking and a visual so you know that it is/isn't locked/unlocked. So if you hit unlock on the remote or door switch it should be unlocking the door and allowing you to open the door from the outside handle. Unless the cable is jammed and it's keeping the motor locked I'm not sure why it's not allowing you to open the door from the outside handle

Nope, won't open with outside door handle. Handle pulls just fine, but it is acting like it's still locked. If I could get the door open just once, I can pull the panel and fix the mistake.

It's just getting the door open once... lol
