Door jamb vin sticker missing

Hello,

While looking for the vin sticker on my truck, I noticed it was no longer present. I looked under the hood to see if it had a plate riveted on the firewall, like the old yotas had. I couldn't find one. So I wonder if toyota does that anymore?

If not, is there anywhere I can get a new door jamb sticker? Or a place that I can get the information from the sticker with just a vin?

Your vin is riveted to the top of your dash on the drivers side. Your welcome

 

I am aware of that vin location. I was looking for information from that sticker, such as the code for the diff gear ratio, etc. Old toyotas had a plate riveted to the firewall with that type of information on it, but it looks like they dont do that anymore, and my sticker is gone.

 

Hmm, toyota dealership will print you out a piece of paper for free, but as far as a sticker......I think you might be hosed. Why is it missing in the first place?

 

I think you can get quite a bit of info on the Toyota owners site punching in the VIN.

I assume you purchased used? Why would someone try to remove that sticker? That's odd.

 

I did purchase used, but I doubt there's any nefarious intent with the sticker. The dealership had a clean carfax for it, and it seems to be in good order and running great. I will go to the dealer and talk to them. Do I just ask them for a build sheet or something?

 

Yeah they will print you out a sheet listing every option the truck has, along with serial numbers of engine and transmission. On the sticker missing...I bet a power washer got it

You should be able to order a new sticker from the dealer. We used to order them if we needed to replace the jamb at a body shop.
