So, on my lunch break, I usually take a walk around the parking lot at work, generally passing my pickup a couple times all the way around (due to parking in the center and edges of the lot; I park in the center area). The other day, I noticed what I thought was a strange thin reflection. I was wrong, it was a scratch.

I investigated further, the scratch started under the passenger front door handle where it was actually a crease/dent in the door. The scratch is mostly surface dust disturbance, but runs through the rear passenger door and into the rear fender flare. The scratches seen in the lower section of the door really are just reflection.

I'm contemplating whether to look into fixing the crease/dent in the door. It's not very visible, and has been hard to properly capture in pictures. I'm almost positive this was caused by a careless person parking next to me (not employee, visitor). I'm pretty sure the scratches will wash off or come out easily enough. 2016 with 60,000 miles. Plan to keep until dead (pickup, not me, hopefully).

If it were mine. I'd fix it.

Take it to a dent doctor place - it will prob be $75- $150 bucks to get it almost completely perfect looking. I slid my taco down a steep grade in the mud into a pine tree. Dented whole passenger door way worse than that. I spent $200 and an hour at the dent doctor and you'd never know it happened.

    Low comprehensive deductible?

    Or

Amazon sells some dent pulling kits I used to fix a pretty good dent about 85%

Don't use your deductible for that - that will raise your insurance rate and go on the Carfax history too if you ever decide to sell it. I have a DIY pulling kit too but it never does as good of a job as I want it to...

Call a paintless dent repair. Some of these guys can repair dings creases like yours that you won't know where it was.
If that was mine, my OCD will drive me nuts.
On windy days I park facing the wind or park away from entrance . Far away. There's too many assholes don't give a shit.

Just a couple inches and your side step would've stopped the door.

Agreed on all fronts. Spend the 150-200 now and recoup that in time saved by not like looking at it for 5-10 mins every time you walk by the truck. I have a scratch/rub on the tailgate and that was there when I bought the truck and I still catch myself looking at it, trying to wash it out, etc.

Amazing what some guys can do with some laquer and a buff pad

Depends on how you feel about it, I never fixed my door after backing into it with a tractor.... but there’s many other dents and scratches so I guess it just doesn’t bother me since it’s already a 3 yo truck.

    This. ^

I had two dents repaired on my wife’s last car. One of them, I didn’t think it was possible to fix since it was in the crease of the fender.
Blew my fucking mind when the guy was done. I couldn’t even tell where the dents were.

I have a dent on my bedside from wheeling that I know I’ll never get fixed. It’s just going to happen again eventually.
