    Man, I feel your pain

my 98 Impreza 2dr, belt mldngs got up to $260 each…….before they discontinued them

mine were made different….no steel under plastic/rubber coating
    Good for you

    b4 I dumped $230
I would try to refurbish your B mldngs
    Take off
Sand off all peeling black covering
    Prep the metal
Paint with specific black trim paint

Maybe even shoot a primer coat on the chrome b4 black trim paint

good paint job 90% prep, 10% paint

SEM Trim Black might be my favorite rattlecan paint in the world. Great sprayability, perfect finish for modern car metals and plastics, and good durability.

I’ve painted all kinds of weathered metal and plastics on my Gen 1, Gen 2, and Lexus RX. I give the paint my highest recommendation.

    Mine I ordered from mcgeorge,,,,
they only offered one part# for each door....

originals were chromed........replacements they sent me....flat black rubber...

    like 60 each..

they're kinda important.....for this I would always do oem.....not try to save....

    minor tweaks
I just dropped the 2nd gen version of that same set of trim moldings with my truck at the paint shop to be installed after they finish painting it. All I could do at this point was examine them and they appear fine and decently made, no other feedback then that at this point.
