I slmost snapped mine in half putting it in. I ended up bending the clip so it goes in easier

Same here. Easiest if you unscrew the light, then you can easily bend the contact points with a pair of small needlenose pliers. Just did it a couple of days ago while I was putting Frost King on my roof panels.

Google led dome light resistor, very common and easy fix for the flashing/flickering. Sorry I don't have any pics or remember the exact resistor that I used.

Here is what I used. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PZYO11K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You only need to solder one across the contacts of the dome light bulb. It serves to take care of the map light ones, without adding one to them.

While it still might work, the resistor is either not enough rated power or it needs to be higher resistance. At 12V the 100 ohm resistor will use 1.44W while it is rated only for 1W.

So would that resistor work or do I need a different one?

If it was tested it will probably work, but my not last the lifetime. I don't know if you can get away with bigger resistance (less power wasted), I guess this is the Master Body ECU dimming circuit that doesn't like LED. I don't have any dimming in my very first gen truck so I did not need any stinking resistors.:)

On the other hand I have this dimming feature in 5th gen 4Runner and LEDs are not flashing. So maybe different kind of bulb will work better. I'm quite sure this bulb https://www.amazon.com/YOOSEN-White...031253&sr=8-72&keywords=festoon+3175+LED+bulb would not flicker as it has simple diode/resistor setup not a Buck type driver. Or even better chipset bulb (same setup) https://www.amazon.com/Huizen-CanBu...31612&sr=8-270&keywords=festoon+3175+LED+bulb

Just one is working for me, but when I was researching the issue, I did see where someone had used two on one LED. By the way, I did try one of the CanBus Error Free bulbs, and they did not work in my situation, until I added the resistor. YMMV

I set my dome to OFF bc i didn't shut my door all the way and it killed my battery over the weekend...i hope you enjoy your new light and won't be a dumbass like me.

It was really the seatbelt catching in the door but there's a thread for that elsewhere..I'm just lazy.

Lucky Son of a gun... I ordered them, installed them, and they didn't work. Tested both, bright as heck, so they do work. Installed them again, no dice! :/

I put an LED in the dome light on my 2nd gen and ended up giving it away. It was too harsh. I enjoy the mellow old school vibe of a filament bulb for that application - everything else on my truck will be led though.
