Today I drove through the car wash on the way home from work. Before I got home a dust storm started brewing so I tried to park it in my garage.
Of course I knew it wouldn't fit straight on but thought I might get it in at an angle.
After about 10 minutes of manuvering in and out to the left side then the right.. I still ended up being about 18 inches too longKIMG0047.jpg KIMG0050.jpg

Moving the squat rack would have been more work than I was willing to do to park my truck

Similar experience. Got my truck all washed, waxed and prettied up. 2 hours later a massive afternoon thunder storm rolls through. I spent the next weekend organizing the garage so my truck will fit. I have just enough space, 6" in front and 4" in back, plenty on both sides. Getting a shed next year to relocate more stuff out of the garage.

I'm not saying it wasn't possible. With enough work I could parked it in there sideways. But I don't want to take 10 minutes getting out of the garage when I leave for work at 430 tomorrow morning

Mathematically yes, but in reality, no. Wish I'd have had the option to do a 26' garage when we built.

No! Mine is 20'. The builder for the house we DIDN'T buy had that extra 6' option. I got 20' and if I didn't actually own any garage stuff my DCLB would fit. Have a bench? Toolbox? Bikes? No good.

Right, sorry my response was for 'boris yeltzen' his fits perfectly. Why do builders make garages so small ? I guess I could have bought a truck to fit my garage. But my theory is.. if you don't need a long bed, then you don't need a truck

I have lots of room. When I built it 12 years ago made it 30x30. Wish I had gone 30x36. Made the door opening 8x18. Just didn't want anything to be tight fit.

I assume that owners of DCLB have their own -well justified-motives to get the LB even if they knew before buy that the truck won't fit in their garages, so it has to be left exposed all time to inclement weather and other perils (hail for example).
Personally one of the main reasons I chosed a SB was because it will fit in my garage. (I just avoided a hail here with my previous car). I have the theory that a garage is to keep my vehicle inside (specially if I just spent almost 40k$ on it).
Maybe you guys could rearrange the garage to snug fit the truck inside, -even occasionally- for those special reasons as danger due to blizzard, hail, heavy rain, dust storm, for security/safety, etc. I think that paint and interior finish will last a lot more than keeping the vehicle outside (at least it is true in the southern part of the country, with scorching 110 deg days in typical TX summers). My 0.02$

Now that's a big garage. I don't know what the dimensions of my garage are but Im sure it's not near 30 feet deep. They don't build 'em like that in California

We bought this house in May this year. Truck fitting in the garage was a mandatory requirement when house hunting. There is also ample space to expand the garage at a later date. I underestimated how much shit we've collected now with 2 kids between 1 and 5 years old and our recreational toy collection (bikes, skis, snowboards, etc...). I had to get clever on where to relocate things. Built shelves up in the roof rafters to get stuff off the floor and free up space.

It would be nice to garage my truck to preserve my paint and interior. Maybe I'll buy a new house to fit my truck. Hmm.. Or a piece of property with an aircraft hanger

Ya well, unfortunately, the wife gets the garage and I get the driveway. I know all about scorcho heat living on the sun and all, but I'm not gonna buy a SB so it's fine. Besides, with kid stuff like previously mentioned it's fine in the driveway. Dust storms here are messy but it's not a sand blast like people assume. Been through plenty with no drama. Hail is rare.
