Hey. Anyone work at a tire shop? Is your wheel balancing machine bolted down solid to the floor? I see on mine, there are three separate contact points that makes me think some movement is good. I bought a wheel balancing machine used and am trying to learn how to use it without a manual. I can't find a manual for it on the internet either.

I did read some other brands user manual and it said nothing about it being bolted down solid.

The one at our shop is not and no issues with it. I assume for larger heavier wheel tire combos you would want it bolted down

Thanks. I kinda figured it did not have to be bolted down. The guy who I bought it from only had it sitting a couple of 2x6's and I skidded it right out of his shop that way.

My nephew has worked at a tire shop for years and is coming over to give his poor senile old uncle some training on the machine! LOL

Maybe calibrate it up and al that jazz

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
Ours isn't bolted down but it does sit flat on the concrete floor and does not move. x2 on calibration

On this note, anyone tried the airsoft tire balance method?

I put in the ceramic balancing beads and have run them for a lot of years with good success. But these duratrac tires needed like 8.5 oz on one side and 4 oz on the other side after removing the balancing beads. So needless to say the balancing beads did not work. And now my struggle learn how to use a machine by YouTube! Lol

Well, actually I gave up on YouTube and will wait till tomorrow when my nephew can teach me

The ceramic balancing beads that I have had good success with have been used on my dodge with 35" tires. I think the bigger the tire, the more success you will have with beads or airsoft pellets
