Nope, the TRD Offroads have an electronic locking differential.

Nope, brake-activated traction control, along with an electronic rear locker.

If a wheel loses traction, brakes will be applied to the spinning wheel creating enough resistance that power will be routed to the wheel that has traction.

Same effect as an LSD but the actual diff is open.

Big Welcome to TW then. :hattip: Doesn’t mean you can’t add one when you want to. Detroit true track is what I went with. Keep in mind I’m 2nd Gen.

All Tacoma's have brake actuated "simulated" limited slip.

In case you need some clarity, the TRD Off Road has two traction aids in the back. If you use the locker, you have physically locked the wheels together, via the differential, that has a electrically actuated locking ring inside it.

At other times, when the diff is “open” the ECU will sense a wheel spinning/slipping and apply the brake to that wheel, which transfers the power to the wheel with traction, simulating the effect of having an actual, physical Limited Slip diff. The only disadvantage of a system like this is using the brakes to lock the wheel takes away horsepower and momentum from the drivetrain, which a true LSD does not.

    Still, a very effective system.

As was mentioned, the truck limits slip through the differential electronically via the traction control/braking system. There is no mechanical limited slip mechanism in any Tacoma from 2009 onward, aside from the locking differential on the TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Trail packages.
