Does my Tow Package have Straight Path Assist

I apologize if this is a dumb question - or one that's been asked before --- I wasn't able to find an answer with "Search"

I'm picking up my lease on a 2024 SR5 with the "Tow Package" on Tuesday. I saw the truck without a trailer attached and the salesman wasn't 100% sure if it had the straight path assist feature. The feature is not a deal-changer for me - but I'd certainly use it, if I have it.

This SR5 has the smaller display - all of the videos on Straight Path Assist that I've seen show it with buttons located on the 10" display (TRD)...The console on the SR5 that I will be getting doesn't have the button that shows the trailer - those buttons are all blank. It does have the tow-brake controls, however - and the tow package is part of the deal.

The question is: Does every tow package come with SPA - and if so, where will I see it on the SR5 once a trailer is attached?

    Thanks,
    - Gary

I think that answers your question. This feature may require the big screen–dunno. My truck has the Straight Path Assist and I've used it twice but have towed numerous times. [IMG]

Well, I haven't tried this on my 2024 SR5 yet and my manual doesn't differentiate on trim levels in the trailer assist section on pp 431-435, but according to the Toyota Option Packages Summary document (attached), it's not even an option until you get to the TRD Sport trim level. Doesn't really bother me too much as I've been towing campers since 2010 and have no trouble backing up. I'd argue that if the truck has the integrated brake controller it should include that option regardless of trim level or infotainment screen size. But that's the world we live in.

Thanks for that document, @GrrrMaker - unfortunately, it doesn't seem to mention "Straight Path Assist" in it - and it also doesn't seem to be up to date with the optional packages...For example, it says that the QI wireless charger is not available on the SR5 - but I know my truck has it. I also have the SR5 with the Tow Package - and therefore do have the Back Up Guide (I did see that in the truck) - but in that document, it doesn't say it's available!

Seems there should be an easy answer to this one!

Well, now I am more curious about this than ever. I might just hook up my utility trailer, take it over to the school parking lot near my house and check it out. I'll report back if I do so.

My SR5 w/ the towing package and trailer brake controller doesn't have it. I pull a single place snowmobile trailer pretty frequently and nothing happens (good or bad) on the screen when I back it up. Think you need the surround cameras for that feature. Trailer mode's a beast though. Love it.

You’ll know if you have it by whether you have the trailer backup guide switch below the shifter (far left). Manual page 431

That's the answer then. It must be an additional feature. Thanks all.
