Hi I have an 05 Tacoma 2.7L going into the dealership for the frame replacement in the coming weeks. Right now i have a coolant leak around the water coolant pipe but I think it could also be more than that. Does a bad water pump make a sound when its going out? The water pump was replaced at 109000 and now I have 183000 miles. When i get under the truck and look there is a lot of coolant collecting on top of the skid plate on the passenger side but it really looks like the coolant has dripped on both lower sides of the engine so any advice is appreciated. Thanks

If it's the bearings in the pump going out, then yes it could make a sound. If it's just the seals leaking, typically no sound until it wipes out the bearings.

sounds like the perfect time to have it dx'd properly while the engine is separated from the frame???
Sorry, what I meant was now while underneath engine is easier to see would it be easier for Toyota (and you) to get a good look at where the sealants are leaking? Good luck, you'll love the new frame. Even my stickers are still in good shape 1 1/2 years after frame swap.

It will rattle like a mofo if the bearing is going out but it doesn't always happen that way. The one on my old Jeep failed and didn't make a noise, it just flushed all the coolant out the weep hole and started to overheat.
