    Arb is $550
    Dobinsons is $300

Is the arb worth the extra $200-250?

They both look identical to me, i had the arb on my second gen and its a solid snorkel. If anyone has the Dobinsons, can you tell me the build/plastic quality. I've read multiple forums and cant get a clear answer as far as quality goes.

I have the Dobinsons, quality is good. Only problem I had was my drill template was off, but there is an easy solution to that posted in all of the threads on the dobinsons. Even with the template issue I'd take the dobinsons over the arb.

Yepp I did read about the template issue, seems like a easy fix. My main concern was the plastic quality. Did it feel like cheap thin plastic? Because when i installed the ARB, the plastic was thick and heavy duty

I've never seen an ARB in person, but I never felt that the Dobinsons snorkel was light weight or flimsy. There was no give to it when i was installing it, and it continues to feel sturdy on the truck. No noticeable sun damage after a Southern California Summer either.

I wish the ARB one didn’t say “Safari” in giant letters. That’s the thing I dislike about it.

I can confirm this. A buddy installed the Dobinsons and he has a couple extra holes in his fender now. Beware!

The TLDR: of the solution is to put the studs in the snorkel housing and put a dab of grease/paint/whatever on the studs. Then you slide the template over snorkel and use the grease marks for your drill holes rather than the supplied holes.

I have the Dobinsons. It was slightly off on the template and the snorkel body was cast incorrectly (crooked).

Dobinsons took care of me sending a completely new kit and giving me tips for adjusting the stud holes to fit correctly.

Those problems were only with the original snorkel kits for Tacomas. I recently helped install one on a third gen and it was a perfect installation. The template and snorkel were perfect.

Is the shape of the Dobinsons 100% identical to the ARB? I know the arb snorkel has the stamped logo but other then that, is everything else identical?

No. The Dobinsons doesn't protrude as far away from the vehicle, and the rise and neck aren't as fat. It also uses a more standard size air ram and there is no writing on the snorkel body at all, only a small Dobinsons logo on the air ram.

    Arb has wider snorkel head.

I’m pulling the trigger on a ARB snorkel. I just need to know how the heck I’m going to get the snorkel to fit on my 2nd gen Tacoma with a TRD CAI?

Is there a ARB hotline I can call that can answer my question?

There has to be some kind of an adapter or coupling that can connect a ARB snorkel to a 2nd tacoma TRD CAI:/
