I got a set of method MR 305 NV rims 17" bronze (painted) and wondering if anyone, waxes, or coats their rims for any level or protection from grit, road salt, etc? I have turtle wax, and plan to use this at the very least.. should make brake dust cleanup easier at the least...

I opti coated the wheels on one of my cars to help keep them clean longer (and so the brake dust actually washes off when you wash them)

I wax my wheels with whatever wax I do the rest of the truck with. meguiars gold class right now. I run my wheels year round and that's 6 months of North east Canadian winters and no issues with corrosion after 3 winters

As long as the wheels are painted or clearcoated, you should be able to give them the same level of care as you do the paint on the body. Wheels take a lot of abuse already, so avoid using those caustic spray-on cleaners and never hose down a hot wheel with cold water.

Once a year, I go as far as to use an old clay bar on my Mustang wheels followed up by a mild polish and wax. They still look new.

I use dr Beasley’s matte cleaner and wheel sealer on my scs wheels. I’ve also used chemical guys matte sealer on them too in the past.

I pulled mine off and cleaned inside & out and used the same ceramic coating used on the truck/glass.

Yes I do. The hands off way. :) Just allow yourself a little longer stopping distance the 1st few times you use the brakes.

Best way to protect from road grime is to coat rims with a heavy coat of mud.

Yes. I wax and seal everything on the outside and inside of truck once a year. It’s easier to clean throughout the rest of the year.
