I watched most of the early reveal videos and I remember they mentioned the bed is bigger than a 3G. But I don’t remember if anyone measured it and gave dimensions.

I’m building a sleeping platform for my 3G and I’d like to be able to swap it into a 4G. If the bed is just wider that wouldn’t be an issue but if the wheel wells are taller I’d need to account for that.

Anyone recall seeing bed dimensions anywhere yet?

I believe they said it was exactly the same size as a 3rd Gen bed except 1 inch taller.

I have an access cab/long bed. Does that mean my Leer camper shell will fit a new one?

    (Maybe don't answer that). :)

Going by those videos that describe the bed, theoretically yes. But the 4th Gen has that roof spoiler in the back so l doubt it will clear.

Bed will be shorter, about 4.5 ft.

If it's an access cab, it's a long bed. No need to specify that it is a long bed. Only one bed option with an access cab. AC, not ACLB.

    I will see myself out.

Bed has more interior space too, the wheel wells are less intrusive:

Notice they slimmed them down so much that you now have tie downs in the front lower corners of the short beds

I'm hoping the short beds are the same, so I can reuse my Diamond Back cover.

Looking at the ribs and 2 photos it appears there may be ? I'd imagine someone by now would have realized it if so though......man would that be sweet.

    I know it's a slim chance.

Is there anywhere I can get official bed dimensions on the long bed? I am hoping to move from my 2005 to a long bed Trailhunter in 2026 and want to keep my current camper.

    • Top of ribs to top of bed side: 19 1/2"
    • Width between wheel wells at bed bottom: 44 3/4"
    • Width between bed sides at bed bottom: 52 3/4"
Edit: For reference, the current Tacoma (from 2005 to 2023) is 42-1/2" between the wheel wells at bed bottom. Gen 4 Tacoma gains another 2-1/4" of width, but still not enough for a full piece of plywood. :notsure:

A little off-topic, but it's nice/fun to see the obvious "heritage pieces" still there in place and included in both of the beds' generation pictures above: bed rail system, loop tie-towns with the hex bolts on the floor, the four traditional sliding adjustable tie-downs in the bed rails on the two sides, and the old-school silver tie downs on the front sides of the beds. Can't speak for the 1st gens as to whether they go all the way back, but just like the 2nd gens bed as well.

Nice touches whether an intentional nod to the past or otherwise.
