Do 2022 Tacomas come with auto on/off headlights?

I can't find a definitive answer to this question. I'm considering a 2022 Tacoma Limited and it does not list auto on/off headlights and the specifications sheet. The only Tacoma models where I see auto on/off headlights is in the premium package w/ the TRD Pro or Off Road. I'm not referring to automatic high beams, but the headlights.

In the 2022 manual (screen shot attached), it shows 3 types of headlights, type A and C have AUTO and it appears that type B does not, but I don't know what type the Limited has. Nobody at my local Toyota dealership was sure either and of course there are no 2022 Tacomas on the lot.

My 22 TRD OR does. I don't know anyone who uses that auto high beam feature tho. Even the dealer was like "that thing is stupid". If you are looking at a limited, you should have it.

My 2019 TRD OR + Premium had it. The auto high beam feature was worse than useless, but the auto headlights worked great. The Limited should absolutely have it unless the chip shortage caused them to start deleting features (read an article about new GM LTZs not including heated seats, steering wheels, etc)

pretty sure type B is for Canada, cause Canadian headlight system is a little difference from the state ( for instant, their DRL cannot be shut off while e brake is done)

Non-Premium 2021 OR (with advanced tech) has the Auto HEADLIGHTS as well as auto high beams (I also echo the comments about the auto high beams)

My 21 trd off road has the auto hi beam button and ive used ut a few times up in canyons at night where you cant see cars until they hook around the blind corners… yes you can see their lights… but the auto hi beam button at least for me does seem to work great as I don’t have to continually enable and disable my hi beams. Just my experience with it. Turns on when no one in front of you and off before they’re gonna be blinded by it.

On an SR, you sure it has auto headlights and not just auto high beams?

I believe my 2019 TRD OR….have a high beam auto function…turns off when it sees a on coming car…Does NOT work if on a turn…and you see lights…only turn off on direct contact…too late…you just blind the other guy…
As far as auto turn off because of sun lights? NO

The best feature is if you leave your lights ON…after you turn off your truck..it will automatically turn off…One of best thing Toyota did for its vehicles…

My '06 TRD Sport lights would shut off when I opened the doors. I used it all the time in Hilo.

Wow that is really interesting as SR's are usually stripped, I had to get the Premium and Tech Package on my OR to get them.

SRs are getting better base features like AHL, intermittent wipers, and even dual zone climate control now

It's because it's across all trims and easier than having another configuration on the manufacturing line. If everything is auto climate control then it's less parts they have to order, stock, and pick to the manufacturing line. And machines can be removed etc.

From a manufacturing standpoint there's really only like 5 tacoma options. Everything else is split off on the manufacturing lines and annoying. Reduce overhead and costs by actually upgrading the base trims.

If I had to buy again now I'd be in an SR hands down. Especially if they still have manual seats. I hate the power seats.

My SX is the first vehicle I've owned without power seats in 25 years. When I took it for a test spin I was surprised how comfortable the seat was, not to mention the smoothness of the ride. Power seats are no different from manual seats for me. Set it & forget it. But should they go south it's a lot more $$$.

As long as you're comfortable in them - the only time you need to adjust seats is to (a) recline to sleep, sure, and (b) recline them or move them all the way forward/back to clean/vacuum, and then they're just a pain in the arse.

I don't regret buying the OR trim that I did, but if I had to do it again, I would be in an SR (Or a frontier)
