I'm curious on this one vs the 6600nex. Seems like similar specs but this one is newer and cheaper?

Less features and smaller screen probably doesn't have the wireless carplay.

What features are missing? They're both 9 inch and have wireless carplay. I feel like there's something missing because of the cost difference but can't find it.

I'm mainly looking for a bigger screen that fits our bezel well and wireless carplay. Looks like the 3800 fits the bill but want to know the real differences before buying one.

    • No HDMI input
    • No HD radio
    • 2 volt vs 4 pre-amp out
But perhaps most importantly it isn't a modular design. The WC6600NEX has brackets where the screen attaches to the unit and allows you to adjust position and depth. The 3800NEX is permanently fixed to the unit:

I think it would be very unlikely that you would get this to flush mount or even mount reasonably in a Tacoma.

Perfect. Thanks. I can live without the HDMI, HD radio and 2v but it not being a flush install is a deal breaker.

I have the 7600 and mine is flush while filling in the existing radio opening perfectly. Not sure how the two models differ in dimensions but I would expect them to have similar form factor with only varying features

That one just looks like it needs to go back. Wonder if his issue was its an SR5 with the smaller bezel so he had to leave the bezel in place to be able to mount the screen so it sticks out. With the larger bezel you may be able to mount the screen first and put the bezel around it. I still may try this at a place with a good return policy. If it doesn't fit right return and get the 6600.

"I mounted it as flush as I could and still get a skinny screw driver in the gap to mount the screen to the head unit bracket."
