Hey guys I'm new here so here's my intro with my first question. I'm running 36 by 15.5 dick cepek tires with my 98 SR5 Tacoma. I've need 4 inches of coverage in the back and about 6 1/2 coverage up front to make my truck legal here on kauai. I figured I need something at least 9 inches wide up front so garden edging won't work. I ripped some peices of plexi today thay I was going to shape and mount tomorrow but I'm not to thrilled with the idea of clear plexy sticking out that far. I could try panting them I guess. Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried something like this or has some other good ideas for that much coveragr. Thanks for any advice. Ill post some pics up later when I get on my pc.

    This is easy.

    Run smaller tires.

But in all seriousness maybe fab up a tube frame and use some diamond plate aluminum? Could look pretty good if you spend some time on it.

    Oh and welcome to TW

Classy and free! Make them as wide as you want :) (and yes that is/was my samurai)

I came up with the idea after a hunting trip with the stock flares. Having softball sized lumps of mud whiz past your face at 100mph to slam into the inside of your windshield gets your attention.

Self tapping screws, got the tire for free from the scrap pile at the tire shop and took a sawzall to it. A couple hours and it was done.
