DIY cleaning of a K&N cold air intake. Any tips?

    Would rather learn to do this myself. I hear it's super easy even for the mechanically challenged like myself.

    I had the Trd intake with the oiled filter on my 2007. If it is anything like that, you just spray the cleaning solution on the filter liberally, rise the solution off under your sink (or wherever), and then set to dry. Once dry, lightly re-oil the filter. You don't want it saturated as it will mess with your maf sensor.

    On my second gen, the previous owner installed a k&n cold air intake. I replaced the filter with an equivalent AEM dry flow. Way better than messing with oiling a filter. https://www.aemintakes.com/air-filters
