Just out of curiosity, why doesn’t anyone put ditch lights or aux lights on rock sliders? I would think this would remove the glare off the hood and/or the work of flush mounting lights in the mirrors. If you positioned them inside the triangle area (protected area). Is the angle of light projection too shallow from the rock sliders vs higher up like from the side mirrors or hood?

Please help educate this newb. Thank you kindly.

Because people put them under the vehicle or in the wheel wells, etc.

Interesting. The light cast would be low.

Just wondering how sideways ditch lights are intended. My cornering light pattern fogs get decently sideways. Are the purpose of ditch lights to be able to look sideways?

I saw ronin metal works has a pretty clean design of installing the lights under the side mirrors as opposed to mounting in the mirror cap, but I think it may block the meso puddle lights…I ordered them anyway because I need to know if they do or don’t lol.

has anyone else used these? Any under side pics installed?

    Ahh ok

Only ones I've seen "low" and not meant for rocks are those silly ones that attach to the spindles of an IFS rig.

    not enough.
i put an led strip on mine. I'm not wheeling so it's not like i'm worried about smashing them but if they do get smashed, cheap enough to replace.

@Tacospike do you have a build thread on those lamps? Very clean looking. I've been hesitant to do ditch lights due to how obvious they are to cops.

Most photos I see of ditch lights have them pointed almost straight ahead. Go sideways enough and there's not much glare off the hood.

They aren't mine. Got these pics from threads people did years ago. It's a great idea but haven't seen anyone do it in years.

I added some mini pods to my mirrors on my tundra as turns though
