Nearly everything seems to be geared towards off-roading or recovering or more clearance. I just want a metal bumper because work truck.

I've been fiddling in CAD and may just make my own damn bumper lol
    (work in progress)

You must be kidding. There are plenty very similar to what you are drawing up. Find something on Amazon or eBay if you don’t like the no cut options offered by the big names.

sorry, just not a very valid complaint. Did you come from Jeeps by chance. They have hundreds of options. Tacos, have like a dozen.

Seems like OP just wanted to show off his 'work-in-progress' bumper.

Well, aren't y'all a friendly and welcoming bunch.

The closest would be the Fab Fours bumper (or the Victory 4x4 Strike bumper), but I specifically want no shackle mounts, no light cutouts, a flat and slightly longer bumper step, and for it to retain the use of the factory hitch receiver. All of the suggested bumpers have at least one thing I don't want.

Was thinking this too but really, I don't blame him.

It's awesome working up your own stuff on CAD; not just drawing it but having it come to fruition really.

    @Cojaro

You going CNC plasma or waterjet?

    I'd love a waterjet

Nothing wrong with making your own.
So many B and complain about things like price, availability, lead times, quality etc. so why not make your own?

another option, ask one of the stateside made to order outfitters, if they make simple changes ex. Not cutting in cube light holes.

Welcome to the suck lol. You’ll learn to tune out the riff-raff fairly quick.

There aren’t too many options for tacomas. I think most companies have the off-road theme in mind for aftermarket bumpers, so you’ll probably end up going with your own design. It looks pretty good, btw!

Looking at SendCutSend or OshCut, so laser. I wish I had the space at home for a basic cutter and press brake, but the garage is my only shop space I have available and it's currently full of project car stuff.

    Hear good things about SendCutSend.

Got my own cnc and brake at home, but they're small as I'm also limited in garage/shop space.

Can't wait to see it come to life, looks good!

The "Ignore" option exists for a reason!

What does this even mean? What do you want a steel bumper for?
Recovery points aren’t a bad thing to have, it’s not like they get in the way and are there if you ever need them. I get it if you just don’t like the way they look though.
    https://www.buckstopinc.com/rear-bumper-4954.html
This one has light cut outs but is about as blocky and basic as it gets. Filling the cutouts with covers or requesting they not be cut in the first place are options.
This post isn’t a question and leaves a lot open to interpretation. If you are going to build one, do it and post about it afterwards. Seems like many of us assumed you were looking for options or opinions.

Exactly. And it doesn’t have an over usage fee!

That one is about the closest I've seen to what I would like and it does look like they offer the option to request custom items. Interest is piqued.

For what it's worth pretty much every bumper in the list I gave above is made-to-order and you can request modifications. Southern Style and Apogee have both done modifications for me in the past (light cut out size, etc). I imagine requesting them to leave off the shackle mounts and the light cutouts would be pretty trivial.
