Discount Tire cant balance BFG KO2'S

So long story short i went from 285's to 295 75 16 KO2's and @Discount Tire Direct the local store cannot seem to get the balance right. They though 2 of the tires were out of round so they ordered 2 new one's, but they couldnt get the new one to balance right either??? and yes they road forced balanced them. My previous KO2's in 285 balanced well anybody have any idea what could be happening?

Bad run of tires? Bent rims? I had 2 sets of BFG All Terrains I bought from Sears years ago and they couldn't get either set balanced right, so they offered me a set of Michelin AT2 as replacements and they balanced out perfectly..

 

There are two variables.
The wheels and the tires.
Either the tires are bad and won't balance, or the wheels are bad and won't balance. If two wheels and tires balanced, maybe swap one of the good tires to a wheel without a tire and see if it balances. That will tell you if it's the wheels or the tires. If it's the tires they will need to keep ordering tires until they get two more good ones.

 

Sounds like bad techs to me.

I've heard "tires out of round," "wheels must be bent," way too often.

Oddly enough the next tech fixes both issues, all with his little hands.

 

Rims are not bent and BF Goodrich is sending two new tires to try it again so hopefully this works. If it dosent maybe ill try a different brand of tires.

 

Let us know when those are out of round also.

Considering your rims aren't the basic steel rims and unless you had some major damage no way would they be the source. Besides aluminum will only bend in one spot and mags, well they just break at impact. Ask me how I know, got in a fight with a storm drain with my previous car. Drain won.

 

Discount told me my aluminum OEM wheels were all bent too.

And that all 7 of my Hankook Dynapro tires that I had over 7 months were all defective. I returned them for 100% refund and bought Cooper's and then went to a different store.


No problems.

 

I've see this lots with BFG's, I used to have a boss that ordered 6 in case we had to send 2 back haha.

 

I have SCS rims that have no bends or hits of any kind but if the problem dosent fix this time ill just get some other brand of tires.

 

Well problem solved new tires came in and balanced great.
