Promise you the fogs are blinding on coming traffic if you have LEDs in there. You won’t glare to much with LEDs in your headlights because the projector cuts down on it. What your getting is an flood of foreground light. LEDs are going to throw light as well as a halogen in there. It basically tricking the human eye. Dropping in LEDs in the fogs are throwing light above the cut off for fogs and glaring into on coming traffic.

The led fogs are the oem toyota ones. They are aligned from factory acording to dealer parts dept. and have a very defined cutoff in person. Only SL1’s in headlights.

don’t blame you $10 bulbs to replace what you paid $150 for is a joke, and you know they are not sending you quality halogen.

This isn’t just them. There is a crackdown from govt agencies against the use of replacement LEDs in halogen assemblies in the US. Unfortunately they’ve targeted the US brands trying to improve the technology while ignoring all the China imports on Amazon, eBay and from lessor companies building the most poorly designed blinding products. Fogs are not federally regulated, hence from a federal regulation level there is no action to be taken for fog use. However replacement LEDs in halogen reflector fogs leads to increased scatter and glare. The appropriate LED mod for fogs is to use an SAE assembly that meets the fog pattern requirements, even though those SAE requirements are not enforced at the federal level.

No, that is an SAE assembly.

DD offered to refund my $150 on the high beams I bought this year and give me a $150 store credit on my low beams I bought last year. They are stepping up, doing whats right of them by the recall. I have no issues with them or my lights. I use the Rigid Pro knock off fog lights and the SL1s high and low with no issues. Not changing a thing, better than a Halogen in my opinion and I know to my eyes they are better suited for me. However I rarely drive at night as I have no reason to and if I do were mostly in the 4Runner. I'm getting some SL1s for it soon! I support DD and commend them, job well done.

I was in Utah a few weeks ago and I swear 80% of the trucks there have led bulbs in their reflector headlights.

In SC it's horrible. Between work trucks, semi trucks, and the bro truck scene where all the trucks and SUVs are squatted in the rear. ( Lift kit up front , lowered in the rear) Their headlights shine literally up into the sky, so they add lightbars and all kinds of poorly designed/ aimed accessory lighting to compensate. Throw in some neon lights in the wheels and underbody and you think you're getting abducted by a UFO at night.

I wish our state had vehicle inspections.

Confirmed. They want customers to send them $150 bulbs in exchange for $60 Philips bulbs (which I personal already own because I tried the after market version first). But this is just ludicrous, I hope no one is stupid enough to “trade” $150 for $60. Or better, if you pick hella, those are between $5 and &20 at best. Just a joke. I expected better of this company and personally feel like this falls sort in the recall and customer service. Just sent a letter to folks and tell them sorry I stole your money just put you factory bulbs in the truck. Lol. Business these days, can’t trust any of them.

Getting some conflicting info on refunds. What other companies are having to comply in the recall as well? I used to have LED bulbs but switched back to halogen over a year ago, just curious.

I suspect TRS, though unsure if that rolls out to XD and HR as well.

I bought mine from DD and was offered a refund on my high beams and a credit for my low beams I bought last year. Just because of the recall doesn't change my lights performance. I'm extremely satisfied with the light output so much of an improvement over the stock bulbs.

I wasn’t offered a refund or a credit. Wish they would cause I want the yellow fog lights. And I agree. I’m keeping them don’t care about the recall.

I think the recall was a CYA thing. You either love the lights or hate them.
