This is my first time replacing the CV axles in my 01 Tacoma. When I pulled the passengers side axle out there was some oil that ran out. Not a bunch and it soon stopped. Is this normal? Thanks for any input, or suggestions ahead of time. All you guys on here make this my favorite forum BY FAR! ✌

Normal. Some is going to leak out, when you're done you can take the fill plug off the diff and top it off. Careful with those hex fill plugs though, they strip easily. Clean out the plug first (speaking from experience)

eon_blue Thanks Brother! I've watched several videos with people changing theirs and, of course, theirs all come out hastle free with no hang-ups and squeaky clean. I knew it wouldn't take long to find my answer. Once again Thanks! Now to back and start sweating!

If you jack up the truck higher on the side your changing it can help prevent it from leaking out or at least less of it, but every time I've done it some just leaks out a bit. Since the front diff doesn't hold a lot in the 1st place it's a good idea to top it off

I'm definitely gonna top it off. I stay sorta paranoid on fluid levels as it is. Preventive maintenance goes a long way.
