Complete Unit from a 2008 Tacoma Pre-Runner with approximately 70K miles. Excellent shape and ready to install. I changed to 4.10 ratio.

I will consider separating the gears from the carrier.

I will cover shipping to the lower 48 not to exceed $75.00

The install was pretty straight forward. I used the following link as a guide.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-installation-of-e-locker-3rd-member.193828/

It took me about 3 hours to complete using basic hand tools. It was really a simple process.

I don't have any idea what the stock gear ratio is for a 2015 V6. At the risk of assuming, I'm guessing yours came with the 3.73 ratio from the factory. I may very well be wrong in that assumption. Regardless of the stock ratio, I don't think my differential would be of any use to you, unless you just wanted the carrier to install a new ring and pinion and keep your factory differential intact.

Not as hard as one would think, and you have 3.73 but this carrier won't work on your truck.

Would this drop into the 5 lug? There are a lot of conflicting comments about what does and does not fit. Would not mind having a bit more get up and go with my bigger tires on.

I honestly wouldn't know the answer to that. I can tell you it came out of a 2008 Pre-Runner V6 automatic. The differential has some casting numbers on the housing that someone may be able to decipher. My axles were six lug. Sorry I cant be of much more assistance.

They should but i wouldn't hold my breath. You may call the folks at East Coast Gear Supply and see if they have an answer. They seem to be the gurus on the Toyota differentials and they have excellent prices.

No it won't work unless you swap the axle.

How do you know if this is true?

Like Artruck, I hear conflicting things...I have 3.31 gears 5 lug manual and I wanted to swap to 3.73 from the V6 Tacos. I thought about this sale, but I'm too far away. I can buy locally at salvage yard...so I want to confirmation as well. If this is true, I think it would benefit Artruck to get 3.73...my intention is to also swap gears. 3.31 is crappy for 2wd 5 lugger.

The wms-wms measurement for a 5 lug axle is 60", the 6 lug axles are 65". I'm not sure if it's just the shafts that are shorter but the axle housing itself is definitely different than the 6 lug. You could take a gamble and buy it to see if it works and take out the guessing but I'm pretty sure it won't. Good luck.

I PM'd a member on here that actually did this swap. So I"m not sure if you ever did it, but he just told me it was done without an issue. I'm not sure how the longer axle would matter. If the 3rd member fits...then it fits.

Well buy this one and let us all know how it works. All I said was the wms measurements aren't the same from the 5 lug to the 6 lug trucks and the axle shafts aren't the same length.
