So here I am expressing my frustration and asking for help.

Little over 2 weeks ago I purchased a lift kit from Shocksurplus that included 6160 for front and 5160 for rear. This came assembled with the spring at the requested height. I still haven't opened the box to see them, unfortunately due to unseen circumstances I have to return the shocks back. After filling out the return form etc, waited to be reached back from them for few days left numerous VM's and emails for them to respond. Finally they reached back to me with a return shipping label and my refund amount ... refund $280 less than what i paid for it. When asked why, they said I am paying for shipping $53 each way and plus assembly of the shocks. I told them i paid $75 for assembly of the shocks but they insisted they will not change the price and this is what i am getting back. I also pointed out the price for unassembled shocks was $799 and assembled were for $820, and according to there policy i am responsible for the shipping cost to ship is back. Then why am I being charged for both ways plus an extra $100 for what. This is not how a big company like them should do business. Very unethical...won't be buying anymore from them.

Submit a complaint to the BBB. They do more than you’d think. Just submit substantial proof.

Or reach out to your card provider on their thoughts on how to handle it.

sucks to go through that but you might be able to get close to what you paid for them (if not the same) selling them on your own. I bet someone will pay what you paid for them since they won't have to wait weeks/months for them to show up. That is a popular set up.

I am going to reach out to both my CC and BBB. Shocks on there site is for $1230 plus assembly. But getting a $280 removed from my original paid price was a slap for returning the item. Not only i am agreeing to pay for shipping + assembly cost they slapped me with shipping it originally plus another $100.

Thanks Lolly, i am hoping someone will offer to buy it here. Unfortunately I cannot put a sale post either due to the restrictions on how many posts I have. I listed it on FB hoping someone local will buy it for what I paid for without having to wait weeks or months. Thanks.

On there website they post "Hassel-Free Returns" this doesn't seem like a Hassle free, i had to go through alot of emails and VM's before I got contacted for the return and getting charged an hefty amount.

Tell them you're going to charge it back on your cc and they'll get hit with a fee

Devils advocate here, but they list a restocking fee may apply on their website. They also state customer is responsible for shipping in some cases. To add, most companies do not refund labor for shock/spring assembly.

Chris, according to there site they will be a full refund for any return items. I am willing to pay the shipping cost plus the assembly fees i paid (which is labor etc.) But what they are holding back is not just that it's more than that. Thanks for your response.

I recommend posting them for sale in the BST once you get the required amount of posts, and also list them on social media marketplaces and CL. They should move quick

I definitely want people to know it's not hassle free if you plan to return them and expect uncertain charges. Hopefully no one will have to go through this.

What's their restocking fee? It's probably a percentage around 13% which would line up with those numbers.

Lol pretty much any company will bust your ass on something like assembly or restocking. Buy a $2500 custom something and expect to pay 25-35% and believe me, it really does cost that much.
Please don't fall from your high horse lol.

I am willing to pay what I paid for assembly plus shipping. They don't mention restocking fee etc. There is no high horse, just a asking for fair price. Thanks for your input.
