Did Toyota stop making service manuals?

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra that I am in the process of selling and when I bought it I purchased a full set of Toyota factory service manuals. I just purchased a 2013 Tacoma and cannot find the service manuals anywhere. Did Toyota go paperless on their service manuals? Does anyone know if digital copies are available?

Gotcha, but the site that you refer to (Helm Inc.) seems to only deal with dealerships.

Hi all.

Toyota will not be printing the manuals anymore.
Go to the TIS (toyota information system) and pay a nominal fee for access. I got many thousands of bucks worth of info for 75 USD.

Hate everything being digital, and why pay $75 for info I want on a single vehicle? I have no interest in thousands of dollars worth of information for any price when it is useless.

 

My bad I thought you mean the owners manuals and if you want a service manual go to a dealership and buy one

 

Service manuals are just like instructions, they are for chumps.

What about the aftermarket ? Snap on tools , OTC , Chilton and ALL data use to be a year behind in the repair manuals ,but always worked for me .
Haynes manuals were a waste of time

 

I doubt that is the case as they could easily produce the entire manual on a single CD or two. It is purely a financial move. If they sell you a manual then that is a one time fee. If you have to sign on to a website and pay a fee every time you are seeking specific information then they can charge you over and over again. Also they can raise the access fees as they see fit. Who says it will stay at $15.00. They could raise that to $50.00 and most would have no choice but to pay.

DoorDing is right. I used to work for a company that made the scantools (before they switched to laptops) for Toyota, Lexus, GM, Honda, Acura and many others. We also dealt with "Mitchell on Demand" and other aftermarket service manuals both digital and on hard paper. We had a literal library of OEM service manuals for each vehicle that we covered. You cannot compare ANY of the aftermarket manuals (printed or digital) to the OEM service manuals, PERIOD. Chilton's and Hayne's are a Joke. If you plan to keep a vehicle for a long time and do your own work, the OEM repair manuals pay for themselves. I have a complete set for my 2008 Tundra (a mixture of 2007 and 2008 but basically the same) and found TONS of info in there that you won't see anywhere else that save you time and money. The "Repair Manual(s)" I own include SIX books and a separate wiring schematic that cost me hundreds of dollars, but everything is very detailed.
I don't mind paying for quality, but it appears as though quality is just not available (to own) in a repair manual anymore, paper, digital or otherwise.
My 2 cents (and then some).
