Diablo 2 RE (Xbox) character builds

I never played D2 when it initially released so this is my first go-round. I’m playing hardcore mode so there isn’t much room for mistakes. Playing solo as a range based Amazon. Just entered Hell difficulty and I’ve had a few close calls. About 1/3 of my gear is runeword equipped and I’m always backed up by a ranged Rogue merc, and my armor casts lv 15 Valkyrie who sticks around until I’m done playing so I have cannon fodder X2. Currently lv 73 and I’m not sure what the best skill tree path is. I have two re specs left…

Anyone that got into this game and is still playing - I’d love some tips or a place to go that has pertinent info organized well. This game has much more depth than I first realized.

Ok, it's been a bit since I went hard on D2, but you want the act 2 merc for sure -- I think with Might. That gives you physical damage boost. For 'zon, I typically ran jav's and built that way, but multi-shot is still probably viable, or strafe.

Are you playing seasonal or eternal? I probably have a bunch of stuff I can give you from years past.

Edit: All my guys were softcore, not hardcore, so that won't work

I’m playing offline single player so I don’t think any of that applies..?

 

On hell difficulty, in Act 4, there's definitely going to be some BS one shot mechanics than can take you out. Obviously build for defense, and run away if possible. Act 3, those little stygian bastards will gank you with a quickness if you get caught in a room unawares.

 

Ah, ok. I have a bunch of the best of the best gear from playing seasonal off and on since like....oh god I'm almost 40 now....
Dunno if I'd be able to give you anything if you're not playing online at all

 

I just logged in and looked at my 'zon from the last season I played (probably 2022?). Her chest armor is on either one of my sorcs or paladins at the moment, if memory serves.
