Starting a dedicated thread for us DeWalt yellow people. I love my DeWalt 20VMax and have not had any serious reliability issues. I have a decent cross section of the available tools. I will at some point get them all out for a photo. Maybe even compose a list. I have three different lights, the big radio, a couple circular saws, nailer, stapler, two driver drills, etc if that is any indication. And one corded 7 1/4" corded DeWalt saw that I rarely use.

I have built runs of six foot cedar fencing all day(s) long, remodeled bathrooms, redid kitchens, etc with 20VMax - being old school this still seems very cool to me. To do this without extension cords.

I've not had one DeWalt battery issue. My batteries lasting years now are still strong. I have three different chargers. I did make a mistake buying two aftermarket knock off batteries that were complete garbage - that probably should be a separate post here.

I know Milwaukee Tools get all the love here and a dedicated thread. So why not a DeWalt thread?

    1\2" impact
    Hammer drill
    1/4" impact
    12" chainsaw
    Jobsite fan
    Corded bandsaw

And probably others that I can't remember. I've never had any issues and am a big fan.

1/2" impact is a freaking beast and has been through a lot. I just recently moved it to second string duty though in favor of something a little lighter and easier to maneuver.

I have so many DeWalt 20V tools. Their hammer drill, impact driver and 3/8 wrench, Circular saw, mutlitool, grinder, sawzall. But not just power tools I went with their leaf blower and their string trimmer too. I want to get the pole saw if anyway has any experience with it please let me know. I also scored the sliding 12 inch miter saw.

I’m in the Dewalt line. I have a few of the 12vs and everything else is 20v max. I know for a fact they aren’t the best tools, but one day I needed a better drill driver than some cheap one I had and guys I had seen on job sites all had the black and yellow so I grabbed one. Then I wanted a impact driver for another project and it made sense to share batteries...then I needed a circ saw for some framing and to replace the the old skillsaw ...then I needed a recip saw for some demolition of a gate on my property...etc.

If I could do it all over again...I would probably have bought into Milwaukee knowing what I know now about power tools...or for what I use them for I think even Lowe’s kobalt brand would be sufficient for most prosumer use and not get raped on battery price. Since Milwaukee owns the rights to 18v/20max batteries.

They don't exactly own the rights. They have certain patents over Li battery use in power tools, high current use and control. There have have been lawsuits, I didn't see any directly involving DeWalt. They may have settled out of court or something. Do you know what and how much the royalty is/are?

I got a LOT of use of my DeWalt drill, driver, angle grinders and recip saw. I moved over to Milwaukee ONLY because their recent releases in the automotive area have been so great, specifically their impact wrenches and ratchets. If DeWalt had comparable tools in their line, I would never have switched.

extra leaf springs on 2012. Topper on 2015.
I have both corded DEWATT : drywall drill, & jigsaw. Then after my tablesaw ulnar nerve damage. I needed the small 12volt drills & drivers: Have 2 sets & a extra, for 5, so I do not have to change bits out. I had a Milwaukee Sawall for 40+ yrs(so picked up another at a pawnshop). Corded Milwaukee 1/2" drill 30+ yrs now, for heavy stuff.

I have a small fortune in dewalt 20, 40, and 60 volt series tools. I use them at home and for work, so I’ve lost track of what all I even have.
Next yellow purchase is a couple of the fans for camping and around the garage.

I actually just got this today. Had a gift card to the Home Depot for Xmas and so I got the 6 ah+ 4 ah battery kit that came with the free tool. Didn’t really need anything so..
