Got me some pinstripes before I even made the first payment….ughh
Best way to remove these without using a buffer?
On a lighter note, first trip to the desert was a success

Battle scars, yessir. But do buy a buffer, I think in the long run you'll be glad you did. Go to a body shop supply store and they'll fix up with the right stuff to do the jobs.

Seeing how you already have some stuff, start with the medium cut cleaner. Use a clean cloth and don’t scrub too hard and just do an area about the size of a basketball in a circular motion. After you buff it awhile, let it dry and then buff again with a clean cloth. You should see a significant difference from the surrounding areas. Keep doing this until you cover the whole area and then do the same thing with the fine cut cleaner, once you have done that it should look pretty good so then you will use the swirl remover as the final finish.

And here I thought I was hot shit for taking mine out soon after driving it off the dealer lot and getting the red letters off of the TRD skid plate torn off out in the desert. You win

Remember, every time you use polishing compound you remove clear coat that’s already extremely thin on these trucks. A lot of your scratches went down to the primer, so you won’t be able to remove them but they will look better.

If you are planning to take your truck to the desert/bush again, you will get same scratches.

I would recommend wrap or at least 10H professional ceramic coating (at least 2 coats) to help you somewhat protect the paint from pinstripes. I’ve had good luck with using ceramic coat on my truck. I’ve only cut polished it once in 5 years, but the constant re application of ceramic coat makes the paint look great, even though I have a lot of scratches.

Last photos are the most recent of my truck, can barely tell that I even off-road haha. There is a pic of the corner of my bumper, that’s how my sides looked. Ceramic coating really helps to hide the scratches, the more layers you apply the better it looks.

Wrap would be the best protection though.

#9 is not bad, I would use that. The rest are pretty heavy duty, if you are not familiar with cut polishing I wouldn’t try them. You can remove your clear coat if you are not careful.

Also, you will need DA polisher.

None of the scratches even went through the clear coat let alone down to the primer, the dust makes them look worse than they are

did you buff it out already? you’ll still see scratches when buffed out if still visible then it got the clear coat possibly to the primer

I’ve been going to this area since I was a kid but haven’t been out there for 5 or 6 years and everything got seriously overgrown and with the dirty fu*kin pigs dumping everything from pallets to tvs everywhere I couldn’t safely turn around

I don’t see dust on your truck, I might be wrong though.

Generally, when you see the colour of primer (beige/gray), it’s impossible to remove the scratch completely.
