Who's the manufacturer of the OEM pump?

That's crazy my Walboro 190lph pump cost 1/3 that lol. Not that I really recommend it, it's noisy

Oh yea.. Denso.. Funny how its the same price difference and situation with Nissan.

You can buy OEM for an additional $200 and get a new Hitachi in a Nissan box or buy a new Hitachi from Rock Auto in a different box that comes with the filter sock.

Yeah the Denso usually is OEM for Toyota on the fuel pumps. And if not, are a solid manufacturer for many of the OEM parts, so it's safe. I've used Denso fuel pumps in my Land Cruisers. Cool thing is the Denso usually comes with the kit w/sock prefilter, and all the little things

Just read your second paragraph and you stated what I just repeated. What happens when I open my mouth before listening (reading) all the way through:D

A few years ago the Denso "kit" had everything including the sock. They were just under $100 and slowly went down to around $80, still with the sock.
They were identical to the OE Denso pumps down to the absolute last detail. The one in your link has different color plastic than the OE but that is next to meaningless and says the sock is not included. The kit with the sock was Denso #950-0103. If you look up "pump and strainer" on the Denso site it gives #951-0001 with the same pic as Rockauto (no sock) so who knows.
    Useful Denso site http://densoautoparts.com/
Get a new oval rubber tank seal as they deteriorate.
The replacement sock was much finer than the OE. The semi stiff OE sock was more of a strainer and had a good sized hole worn thru from rubbing on the tank bottom.

Dirty pool, have you really been able to get out daily or that frequently to wheel? Just noticed the phrase below your handle changed. Or is that your wish, as is many of ours?

Great info DP! The Denso seal and sock are on the list. I think that should cover everything?

Are there any rubber hoses outside of the tank that I need to consider?

I'm doing my usual parts collecting in advance for when I have the bed off for maintenance in Sept./Oct.

Closer to daily than weekly but still the goal, been on vacation for 17+ years.
Thought I would change from song of the month.

I'm a fan of dropping the tank for the swap for a number of reasons. If one forgets to first disconnect the short, semi hidden flex line right at the tank, it can be damaged.
Looks like this, a sheathed "nylon looking" tube and not cheap. Later years had a different set up. Arrow is where it kinked.

Good point. I'm actually prepping the Taco to run for another good 15 or so years. So I'm on a mission to replace all things rubber that supports the engine running by end-of-year. I've already done the engine compartment with the exception of a couple of vacuum hoses that are on the list.

The Denso ones work fine. I put three in other trucks and one in mine. Haven’t had issues, I do suggest the fuel sending gasket on the tank too, good suggestions out here. The female fuel line should be inspected for kinks like was said, they don’t always want to come off without twisting to shit.

I'm a fan of Aeromotive pumps as a replacement, sure they're higher flow, but they fit in the stock location nicely with the stock rubber isolator on the bottom and are quiet (looking at you Walbro you clapped out POS brand)

I'm going to remove the bed to sandblast and freshen up the frame. I have three kids and a neighbor that will help with the bed. I learned the beds are 6 bolts and 4 guys. I have that covered. The bed was off last week. Trying to figure what else to work on while I have the bed off.
