Looking into purchasing my "first" AR-15 and found it to be a little under 1k at Turners, wondering how good of gun it is?
Try searching it up not many reviews as far as how it shoots.
    Farthest and Accuracy Distance?

You answered your own question. If it's quality, don't you think there would be more reviews? Stick with well-known brands w/proven track records. If you buy an AR15 only based on price you'll regret your purchase someday. If you're balling at a couple hundred here & there for quality gear you better not price ammo to actually shoot the thing. lol

My dad's AR is a Del-ton. Despite not being well-known, this is a brand that gets it right for a simple sport AR-15 (with forward-assist, mind you).

Quality-wise, you're not going wrong, all parts are mil-spec and are quite sturdy for the money value. It all depends on your intended application. The rifle you're thinking of buying is a general purpose AR-platform rifle. With that you get the typical features like the M4 profile 16-inch barrel, M4 front site post, not sure if you get M4 feed-ramps (you'll have to investigate), standard mil-spec bolt-carrier group, buffer and single-stage trigger. Overall it's a very mil-spec rifle. The benefit you get from purchasing a basic mil-spec AR-platform rifle is modularity, every feature I just mentioned can be changed out later. Such as the polymer furniture of the grip, stock, and handguard, you could replace with Magpul or something else preferred later. So it's a great gun option for the money or as a starting rifle and will definitely shoot well. Just keep it properly lubed! That goes for any auto-loading firearm.

As far as distance and accuracy, what is your range? Is the barrel chrome-lined? Almost any 16-inch barrel AR-15 on the market is capable within the 100-300 yd. range. Past that, really you're limiting factor becomes the caliber. The 5.56x45 (or 223 depending on chamber) cartridge isn't much bigger than a 22. Can it shoot to 500, maybe even 600 yd? Yes. Will it knock down the bad guy and remove the threat. No. You're accuracy will also begin to falter past 300 yd. because of that 16-inch barrel. A shorter barrel means less velocity, less velocity means less ability to buck wind or any other factors. For a precision AR-15, you're better looking at 18 or 20 inch barrels.

Del-ton is known to be of lessor quality.

Check out Spikes Tactical. Great mil-spec AR that can be had for $800.

I'm still very indecisive on what to go for, but thanks for all the information but yeah Del Ton is considered a "excellent starter" at my gun shop just new to this whole ar15 so I wanted to see who knew a little more about them since not much rating is found on it.

It really comes down to what you will use it for. If it is just to plink at the range, yea the Del-Ton is a good rifle.

I did like both the Spikes Tactical and the Colt LE 6920, just both are a little more (which I don't really mind if they have a great rating) guessing there more expensive here in CA due to all the regulations

This is probably the most i'll ever use it for nothing major as far as hunting. Not into killing animals of any sort, just want something reliable(not jamming all the time or breaking easily).
I don't do a lot of range shooting with my other guns, but ill probably visit the range more if I make this purchase on an AR

Oh yes we have all those lovely taxes and waiting periods here in CA. I ended up building my AR from scratch so I saved on some of that.

Yea I heard there cheaper out in other states but due to regulations and certain modifications they had to do they bump up the price here in CA.
As far as im concern the only thing they do them is the cartridge release button.

Mine is the S&W Sport rifle- got it for under $500 a couple years back. Put thousands of rounds downrange and it's worked out great! There is no forward assist and no dust cover. Otherwise, been a fine rifle so far and S&W has a great warranty and they're located in the next town over! They can be had for a little over $500 now brand new, less if you buy used.

The only modification they SHOULD have had to do is add the bullet button which is around $10. You can find them as kits for around $600, but some kits don't include the lower receiver, which is the piece that receives all the registry and rubbish.

Only if the 10-day period is lasting more than 10 days. :p

It is annoying. Here in CA they reason that a "cool down" period is necessary for people. I.E. a person who is angry and contemplating murder goes out to buy a gun but instead of receiving it right away, he has 10 days to "cool down" and think about what he's doing. In my opinion, it's stupid because anyone who is serious about murdering someone will wait past the 10 days to do it. The other 99% of the time, it's just costing responsible citizens time.
