Dehydrated Bacon

Anyone ever tried dehydrating Bacon? I've been doing Jerky the past month or so and just got the idea to try Bacon. I've done a few google searches but would appreciate some first hand info on it

 

Well everything i read concerning jerky and dehydration said fat spoils. I would assume that means bacon would go rancid.

 

Why would you want to dehydrate bacon?

 

I would try it if you can dehydrate it - Bacon, the new Salsa. Goes with everything

 

What about those bacon bits for salads aren't those

 

I agree with above post, too much fat in bacon.

 

Ive had jerky bacon. It sucked.

 

Cook it-throw it in the freezer--works great-ready when you want it.

I had Bacon Jerky from Walmart once and it was actually pretty good. It looked like real bacon, tasted like real bacon, so that means it's real bacon right ? ? ? ha

Would it be possible to trim off the fatty parts? Or is there still just to much fat in bacon for this to be possible

 

I don't think most bacon bits are actually bacon. Most actually say "imitation" bacon bits.
