A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Lets try to clear up the definition here. I know there may be differing opinions but whats the "true" meaning?
My definition of invoice price is the cost of the vehicle ,including All options put on by Toyotas either at the factory or at the "port" (in shipment facility owned by Toyota) plus the shipping costs. The way I see it "invoice" DOES NOT include any "dealer added options", Taxes, License,or dealer admin/paper/handling fees.
If I have this right then I will be paying about $100.00 under dealer invoice! on my 17 SR5 4x4 V6 AC AT --with the only option being Tow package.

Invoice = what the dealer paid to get the truck.

^but not actually what they pay for the truck. Considering there's holdback, reserves and incentives.

^somewhat make believe number so the dealership can make someone feel like they're getting a vehicle without any profit margin, and the dealership can still make money.

This is what a full dealer invoice will look like for Toyota (Finance and Wholesale explained at the bottom of the invoice, see other image for breakdown)
    [IMG] (click to enlarge)

Now this is the breakdown of the same invoice. Look at the bottom squared in RED. these fees are hidden in the invoice cost of the vehicle and this is all dealer profit if its dealer trade or sale from the dealer. If a dealer has to go and buy the vehicle from another dealer, you wont be able to get this money off. You can only haggle this money off if its purchased from the dealer that has the vehicle in stock or if the dealer is able to do a dealer trade for the vehicle.

So when someone says they got the vehicle at invoice cost, they are still paying the dealer $700+ depending on the vehicle.

All of my deals are done at $200 over triple net, which means, I get the vehicle for invoice minus hold back minus finance plus $200 markup so the dealer is making some money on the deal but then again all my deals are factory orders so there is no work for the dealer to do. Its an easy $200 + their $80 doc fee for them.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Nice, thanks for the details.

Got mine for $1k under invoice. Way better than any other dealer within 100 miles. I asked the salesman how they could swing that. Volume, he said.

Plus it's a 2015 2nd gen, so it increased another grand in value the second I drove it off the lot.

The dealer I buy from sells to me and everyone else for less than their real cost, not invoice. They make up for losing money on every car with volume.

If any of you guys think even for a second that you are getting a vehicle and the dealer is losing any money on you, you are fools.
