i hit too many deer with my Tacoma. Does anyone know what one of those front protector pieces are called ( cow catcher-deer catcher) and where I might find one? Just hit my fourth deer, with this truck, the last was in January. The repair took over a month.
If I knew what it was called, I could more easily shop for one. Thanks for any info.

plate bumper not brush guard or bull bar. Something like an ARB mentioned above. I call it a deer smear. I have a Relentless bumper. Many good vendors out there though.

You might wanna get some deer whistles too. The decent ones are about $8/pair and I run them on everything including my motorcycles. If you religiously follow the install instructions they do work...........but not 100% (I have seen a few deer hits with them already installed)
    They’re cheap anyway.....can’t hurt....since you’re obviously a deer magnet.
FYI- If anyone else does hit a deer, you might wanna research how to word-it on the report to the police and your insurance company. Back in Ontario Canada, it made a difference if “The deer jumped out and hit my truck” vs. “The deer jumped out and I hit it with my truck” Some insurance companies are royal pricks.

This is a good start plus you have the snorkel if you chase them into a river

Dumbest law ever, surprising being in Texas.

I’ll never forget the time I worked at a professional graphic wrap shop. My boss saw a gal hit a deer in front of him. He threw the deer in the back of his truck and we proceeded to gut and skin that bad boy in the shop when he showed up. This was in California of all places

It’s ok to offend people there’s some crazy things in here. That’s a huge bumper though and ARB costs like $3500+ with the winch

I guess that means he just needs to pee on the front of his truck.

Theyre called bumpers. You can get them online ot locally depending on whos close to you. There are lots of options.

What you DONT want is a brush guard. A brush guard is designed to protect the truck from branches and bushes at 5mph, not a 200lb deer at 45mph. A brush guard will end up causing more damage in a front end collision.

It won't actually cause more damage, but it also won't help out at all. Whatever force is coming at the bar will hit the grill and hood anyway.

But yeah, if you want to protect the front from certain kinds of soft collisions, what you need is something strong mounted at 4 points on the truck ... left and right at primary bumper mount, and left and right at front suspension cross member.
