    Hello!

I’m a new member now that I just got a 22 TRD OR MT.

I am interested in using the truck on Colorado trails, and my question is about bed organization.

I had been thinking I would get a pickup toolbox to hold recovery gear, tool box, etc. and try to find one that fits under a tonneau cover. But after reading here and researching both Diamondback and Decked look interesting, and possibly both together???

Question for Diamondback owners: how do you organize the space under the cover? How do you keep your trail shit nice and organized and not sliding all over in the bed?

Question for Decked users: are the drawers deep enough to hold a toolbox?

Has anyone used these two products together? How much space is there above the Decked platform and under the Diamondback? Is it useful? How do you organize it?

Thank you everyone! This site has been super helpful. I’m collecting stuff to install my 2m radio using info here. I searched for Diamondback vs Decked and didn’t really find a discussion on these points.

I love my Diamondback. I took some grief from the wife over the purchase, but the secure storage is great, and I'd buy it again. It's also quick and easy to remove the doors (I on occasion remove the back one to carry something tall), or of course strong enough to walk on top of it.

For storage, I have the Crossbin 8 in the front and I use plastic tubs in the back to put stuff in (like groceries, etc.). I also recently mounted the Front Runner racks to on occasion mount my roof top tent to it. The tent mounts towards the back so that I can still open the front door.

I had both the Diamondback and the Decked and used both together for quite a while. It worked really well for me but I ended up getting rid of the Diamondback because while I had plenty of room for my equipment when I went on solo camping trips, taking the family was a hassle because there was little room for all of their stuff (suitcases, backpacks, etc). I don't remember how much space was open between the two but in the first photo that is a Pelican 1720 case and that fit great. Another photo shows a waterport under the cover. I ultimately ditched the Diamondback to regain my space, there's no way I could give up my drawers, I love the Decked system, it works perfectly for me as far as security and keeping organized.

I've got a Diamondback HD on my rig, with the same storage bins that grogie has in the back of his bed; they are from Plano and come in black and a green/camo color... Mine are all the green version. I've got two sizes - larger is full of whatever I need when I'm out doing something other than any recovery gear, and the smaller size has all the recovery straps, soft shackles, etc in it.

I thought about getting one of the trays under the front half for right behind the cab under the Diamondback, but went against that as I needed space to stack long gun cases in the bed. If you don't need to that, the Diamondback tray could eliminate a bin for recovery gear easily.

DB SE Owner here. I love it! I use plastic bins or totes to carry my tools or gear which seems to keep everything organized nicely.

I have the DB SE too and like it.
I use milk crates against the cab side with a bar to hold them in place.
I also use a cheap rubber mat from TSC (or maybe it was Menards) to keep other things from sliding around.
