So I had a Decked system installed in my 18 TRD OR short bed. While shopping I’m someone who needs a visual or some perspective on size and how it would fit my needs. Here are some quick points
    -very well-made
    -great fit
-adds lots of utility and security
I’m an outdoorsman and love to hunt, fish, camp etc.. this setup allows me to take my dogs and keep them off my gear. Guns, bags, clothes all stored and kept clean and secure. No more reaching for gear way up against the cab.
Here’s some perspective on size. This is a Beretta a400 20 gauge with a 28” barrel in a bulky case
    EDE443FE-8313-492D-9CB0-C4DCCEB54A07.jpg
Still wanted access to the power outlet feature in my OR. I installed a heavier gauge Appliance cord since you will lose access to to the outlet. This works flawlessly.

I got both the large and small D boxes, I place them way in back and use the dividers as well. They are well thought out, hold tons of gear and stay put.

The two side ammo cans are quite deep and can hold tons of gear. I use them to store the dividers, tow straps, bag of dog food etc,...

I was worried that I’d lose a ton of overhead space being that the Decked is quite tall but I think it’s worth the compromise. I have some foam tiles and camp pads and I’ll easily be able to sleep back there while up in the woods trout fishing or grouse hunting.its exactly 2 feet to the roof of my A.R.E./Action cap.. I’m 5’10 and it works fine in a pinch. Here is some perspective shots on clearance485F2426-691D-4B6C-9E15-7E9A04E78639.jpg

Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting one of these. The folks at Decked are easy to get ahold of and glad to help. I did not install it myself I had local Ziebart dealer install it since I was out of town and it was a good opportunity to get it done. Any questions feel free to reach out!
    Cheers

**forgot to mention you will need a flat plug to plug into the rear outlet, a traditional plug sticks out too far

Thanks for all the pictures. I'm still sorting out my "needs" - but your solution seems like it would cover them pretty much all. Only one question, I'm 5'10" too and I don't fit all that well in the back. Even diagonal is tight. My Brittany wants more space than I leave.

I seem to fit pretty well and with a Lab or two. Not as snug as I thought. I’m also thinking a rooftop tent if I decide it’s too snug

Having owned and used a decked system for awhile, recently sold it as I was not liking it at all. I would say the decked system is a cheap way to get storage that has a lot of marketing hype behind it. What I hated most was the shape of the drawers, which makes it so you cannot actually get a lot of stuff into them. Nor can you put normal tool boxes, etc in them and have them sit securely. Personally, I would look at getting a drawer setup, that is square (ARE, ARB, truck vault, etc)you can store normal tool boxes and a host of other items into them. Sure they cost a bit more, but you are getting a better product IMO.

@aaen bummed to hear you were bummed with your DECKED experience, but thanks for giving it a whirl! Like all things in life, there are tradeoffs. We have designed our drawer shape as a matter of physics (it's an engineered product which is different), and created a family of competitively priced toolboxes (D-Box and Crossbox) to accommodate for the non-square (slightly trapezoidal for those who have not seen in person) shape of the drawer for perfect nesting storage containers. This gives the customer modularity and at $40-$50 ea, they are really a poor man's Pelican; it ain't a bad option especially compared to the price delta of other options.
I guess I am most flattered to hear there is marketing hype out there! Our product stands out for its product weight, industrial strength durability, never-bind drawers, and of course price. The key difference between DECKED and ARE or Truck Vault is that our product is designed with a 2000lb payload and intended to live outside in the harshest of conditions in industrial environments. It may not matter with a shell on your rig, but the second point of differentiation would be weight. At 220-30 lbs it's tough to beat-- your payload is precious in a Tacoma and strength to weight really matters.
Thanks as always for sharing your thoughts!

What is engineered about the shape of your drawer? And what physics are applied to come up with the shape? Or do you mean that multiple iterations were gone through in shapeworks or AutoCAD to determine the shape that was aesthetically pleasing and that decked wanted to use? FYI that is not engineering, nor is physics applied.

The d box is the biggest POS out there! I will hand it to you though the cross box is actually a nice tool box. Although if you would have engineered the shape of the drawer to be square there would be no need to engineer tool boxes to fit the new drawer and you could have saved your customers money as they wouldn’t have needed to buy these accessories and also yourselves some engineering and design time on the drawer shapes and made the product cheaper to manufacture and increased your profit margins or maybe pushed those savings towards th customers? No?

Why does a storage system on a Tacoma need to be able to support 2000lbs? The payload on the truck is only 1100lbs. The decked system without anything in it already takes up 1/5 to 1/4 of the payload depending on the bed length. All the other storge systems were/are similar in weight, have better functionality in terms of storage/customability. Oh it’s waterproof? Why would anyone put a storage system in the bed of a pickup without a canopy? Sure that some do, but that defeats the purpose of having a bed as it is rendered useless as you have 6 inches of bed space left. Otherwise you get a job box and use that, they are much more useful in industrial applications. Yet to see anyone use one of these anywhere besides recreationally as Toyota’s are rarely used in commercial fleets, typically ford/Chevy, and they will be equipped with job boxes.

The driver side drawer is completely useless and a waste of space, sure you can put rifles/etc in there, but it is pointless to store gear on it’s own, you need the crossboxes for this drawer. The wide drawer is great, although normal sized tool boxes (Milwaukee, dewalt, etc) do not sit flat and they shift around. The dividers are junk, warped and to soft, same issue on the d box dividers.

The drawer rollers also are not flawless and they do stick in dusty conditions.

I could go on but I won’t, there are better options out there, just don’t get sucked into the hype on these systems. They work but there are better options..

How much did the rear sag after the decked system and bed cap? I have a snugtop rebel and decked system, rear is sagging a little.

Personally, I love my Decked System (it'll hold my clothes, etc). Starting Monday, this will be my new home (not kidding)! Installed it myself, just needed assistance on keeping the outside nuts from turning. Thanks @DECKEDUSA !!

Mine sagged about 1.5" with the weight of the decked and leer shell. I went with some air bags and it's back to level.

Roughly 400lbs of constant load is quite a bit for a DD vehicle. Getting the bilsteins and OME dakar HD leaf pack installed this saturday to lift my saggy ass.
