Decided spare tire under the truck is useless, what useful stuff have U used that space for?

Title pretty much says it all. I was thinking about it, a tire that will fit in that space will do me no good. Plus I carry a plug kit and small air compressor. I pull nails and screws and bolts out of my tires all the time. No leaks. Only time I ever got a flat was with KM2'S and it was from a 5" long about 1/2 around piece of steel. (we were playing around on a ranch, god knows what it was from)

Anyway, only fix was several plugs and air compressor.

So no use in lugging around a spare under there, what do you guys use that space for? :)

Not carrying a spare is a real bad idea IMO...especially if you go offroad at all. Most flats I see off pavement are punctured or torn sidewalls and you ain't going to be patching or plugging one of those up.

Being stranded somewhere remote without a spare would not be fun but to each their own

I thought about that, but how well would a 31" tire help? I have a set of 33's if I'm going somewhere remote, I can toss one of them in the bed or on top and strap it down.

I have a 33 in the stock location. It goes in the bed for more serious off-road use but back under for camping etc. daily driving it stays at home

Should always have a matching spare...if you're running 33s then get another 33" spare. Doesn't have to be the exact same tire, can get a cheap one so long as it's the same size.

I ran a smaller 32" spare with my 33s once when I got a punctured sidewall miles from any civilization...it wasn't ideal but it can be done and its better than not having a spare at all. Just make sure to run the smaller tire up front so that your main drive wheels (rear) are matching. Having mismatched tire sizes on the drive wheels puts a ton of stress on your diff.

I run 35x12.8's, the KM2's I have are 33x11.5, think it would fit? I didn't even think worth trying. But still, can strap on. Maybe better use of space?

I have a 33" spare stuffed underneath my bed. Used a BFH to mash some things out of the way and wah-la.

I too fit a 265/75R16 under the bed. Cut out two brackets that were limiting the space. Could see a 33 going there, much more and you'd have a tire right up against the exhaust.

That 32" fits there without doing anything. But props for being quick with the grinder

Might be your experience, but it wasn't mine. I tried, didn't fit with the KO2 on my SCS spare wheel. HAD to cut.

Move the spare tire winch assembly back toward the bumper. It requires drilling two new holes, but your 33” will clear the rear diff.

Then use a hammer to slightly bend the tire tabs, or just cut them off.

    Ta-da, full size spare.

Dunno what might be different, but I tried stuffing it in there and it simply wouldn't fit between the two tire locating tabs. Wasn't that bothered by removing them anyhow though. Been over a year or so and no issues.

Matching 33" spare in bed now. Will be on a swing out eventually. Just not yet. Space where spare was originally will eventually be a fuel cell.

I put an air tank at the oem spare tire location. Allowed me to run a hose to my road shower, no need to pump it up anymore! Saves me about 2 min when airing up

You can drive on differently sized wheels as long as you keep the speed down and DO NOT engage the front axle.
If you're going somewhere remote where you need to have the 4WD working, then by all means, throw a wheel in the bed. But you really want to be lugging that thing around when you're going to home depot for lumber? And if you run over a box of roofing nails in the HD parking lot... then what?

Keep the factory spare in there. Never hurts to have an extra wheel with you, especially when its mounted out of the way.
