    from shop:

"so for the max trac spindles and brake lines,4" rear block and u-bolts, carrier bearing drop, bilstein coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, light racing upper control arms, and a 2" add a leaf installed otd for $2400.00. Let me know."

and if I wanted all pro 3" leaf packs and 2.5" blocks out back add 500 instead of the AAL and 4 " block.

    opinions?

$1,500 in parts (retail) = $900 in labor + whatever is profited in parts.
You fine paying $900 for this install job?

I have never paid anyone to do anything like this before.

But you figure the shop will have 2 guys tied up on the job. for 5 hours? 75 an hour for each mechanic, plus alignment, supplies, and the cost of their overhead cost. It adds out ok to me.

Would I pay it? No but I prefer to do stuff myself.

the shop takes 20% off installation when you buy a lift kit and wheel/tire package as well, so that's a plus...

If a shop needs to put two techs on a lift kit, I don't know that I would be taking my truck there. Lift kits are not rocket science to install that two guys are required. A little quick help here and there is one thing, but that is on the shop's dime, not mine. A shop that would bill hours for two guys on a one-man job is taking you for a ride.

If your tech knows what he is doing, and its not his first time installing a particular lift, the majority of the standard kits from the major brands can be done in 6 hours or less on a good day. Shop time will run around $80-100/hr depending who you call. So, would I pay $900 labor for a basic lift kit?? Nope.

well, the 2 guy installer comment was from another poster, not me. I have no idea if they use 2 guys to install a lift. and install would be about 175 less with the discount. and the shop has some good reviews..

I know the 2 tech install wasn't from you. I was just making the point that a shop doing that without informing you beforehand is taking you for a chunk of cash.
