Just thought I'd share our little excursion.
The wife and I were bored, and decided to take a mid-week trip to a place we had never been. Its in the Bowman Lake area off of highway 80. The lookout is no longer used by the forest, and is in the process of being converted into a rentable cabin (@ 7600 feet !).
Being adjacent to the Grouse Ridge Non-motorized 'wilderness', the area is mostly used by hikers, fishermen, campers.

Easy, but sometimes narrow and rocky, road up to the lookout and nearby campground

    first view of the lookout

area next to the small, non-fee, campground near the top (@ 7500 feet)

Panoramic view from the wilderness trailhead

obligatory shot of the rig :D

hiking up to the lookout (about 1/4 mile past a permanent gate)

    at the lookout
