I've started getting the dash warning that my PCS sensor is "off" when starting my truck. It goes away after about 10 minutes of driving. Anyone else experienced this?DashPic.jpg

Nothing significantly blocking the sensor on your grill?

Nothing at all. Same as when I drove it off the dealer lot in June

That shouldn't be normal imo.. I would bring that back and have the dealer take a look especially if its been happening since you bought it

My 2018 just started doing the same thing yesterday. Light came on yesterday once, and twice today (NO warning message on the center display)... both emblem sensor and camera area clean, no rain/snow on vehicle. Checking to see if you took into to dealership and found a solution yet... TIA

I had mine showing up on occasion with the message clean sensor. You could eat off my sensor so that was not the problem. Now I have gone for a week and no error or indicator. I will watch it and see if it comes back.

Mine has also been coming on in the morning, pretty sure it's do to the cold temps out? It only happens when I have a heavily frosted windshield in the morning. After about 5 min or so it will turn off. What's the temp in the morning where you're at? Does it sit outside all night? Curious...

Mine came on for the first time yesterday. It was raining like hell from the current Hurricane. Could really heavy rain cause this?

Have u tried unplugging the cable from it clean it with some connector cleaner and reconnect . Maybe dirt grime .. causing a intermittent connection issue. But if still under warranty let them touch it .

Yes. I’ve noticed it in a torrential rain and of course with snow. Anytime it has trouble “seeing” what it thinks it should it “fails safe” with a warning letting you know it’s not working as designed.

I just noticed my 2018 started doing this a few days ago. We had some snow last week. I washed the truck and still have this issue. In the past, this was only an issue when snow was actively coming down and building up on the front sensor or when the snow started to melt and cars would kick up a lot of dirty water. For 3 years, I never had to clean the sensor, the warning light would just go away as snow/ice melt. Anyone in here got any solution or feedback from a dealership?

My 2020 tacoma offroad with no modifications just did it during a hard rain. I'm assuming it was because of the rain.
I didn't know what the light meant until I googled and followed the image to this thread

I've noticed my 2021 does this periodically when driving down dusty dirt roads. Restarting the vehicle removes this problem.

The garnish in front of the sensor is usually the culprit in these situations. If the garnish is being obscured by rain/water, snow, ice, dust, dirt, it'll act up temporarily. If there's an issue with the sensor or wiring harness then the indicator on the dash would be permanent and you'll get a warning on the gauge cluster telling you to visit the dealer. Its also common on trucks with aftermarket grilles, or when the sensor has been relocated.

OP I had the same issue as you when I installed the TRD Pro grille. The light would come on after starting up the truck (or within the first mile of driving) and it'll turn off 10-15 minutes later. It was like that for about a week. 2.5 years later and I've had no issues.

Worth noting that pcs uses both the radar sensor (grille) and the camera sensor (windshield). Is the windshield intact and clean?
Heat and cold will turn that on too
Check page 248 of the manual

Anyone come up with a solution for snow piling up on the sensor garnish? I was thinking some WD-40 or something so it doesn't stick. Kind of annoying every time you drive in the snow the light comes on

Odds are, any "topical" treatment you do won't stand up to snow build up. Toyota woulda/coulda/shoulda integrated some heating element in the garnish, but...you know.

Same thing goes for the LED headlights...just gotta deal with impaired performance due to snow buildup.
