I recently installed an aftermarket radio on my 2006 tacoma, now when i turn on my headlights the dash wont light up but when my headlights are off the dash lights up. Its not the dimmer switch i checked that already. Could i have blown a fuse?

Ya you could have blown a fuse, the manual or the lid to the fuse box should have a diagram. I blown my fair share of fuses whem I was younger putting in radios.

Would it be the fuses under the dash or under the hood?

In my 2014 the fuse for the instrument panel lights are in the fuse box within the cab. 3rd from the left top row.

It's your TAIL fuse blown. Remove the ground cable of battery before you do electrical work. Yes, even removing & replacing a fuse.
It's in Cab behind the "stash tray". Open, squeeze sides to clear tabs then pull up.
    Reverse to install.

Thank you that helped a lot, but if i replace it do you think it will blow again? If it does blow again my wiring for the radio is probably messed up?

maybe you need to look at the illumination wire on the radio harness or the harness you bought to wire up the radio.

If I understand this, The illumination wire tells the Clock and radio that the lights are on (Dark outside) and they dim the radio lighting. Check the illumination wire from the truck and the "dimmer" wire on the radio.

Probably what's wrong because the fuse is perfect

I solved the problem, the 2 orange wires i had connected, one of them (orange and black) needed to be grounded so i hooked it to a piece of metal on the side of the radio and everything works fine now
