This is a Dash Kit Question / stereo upgrade question

My apologies if this is redundant, easy to get lost in the chatter.

Short story: Factory radio ( 86120-35281 ) stopped working, 8 CD changer ( Eclipse #5083 ) stopped being reliable years ago, installed temp 04 Taco Radio unit ( 86120-04100 ) but it's too big for dash molding. (additionally) had aftermarket security system no longer applicable so I completely removed all 4 components. Busy time under the carpet and consoles lol.

Main Question: Dash Kit going from double Din to single - should be simple, but having difficulty finding correct kit. Scosche #UI3025-WM1 does not work console gap is too small.
Second din can be pocket or later adaptable for switches, I don't have a strong preference.

I have been told, "00 Taco has some unique features from the seat mount configuration to the size of the center dash". I cannot say for sure that's the case, only that replacements can sometimes be a bear. Appreciate any constructive feedback, funny how simple things get so complicated.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have a 2000 and I never had any problems getting things to fit.

I have the manual transmission i would not think that would make a difference.

I had a signal Din Sony and a pocket that came with the truck I switched back to the factory unit.

You do need to have the correct brackets to mount the radio.

It does help to have a Aftermarket radio made for your truck.

I never had any issues with Toyota`s not accepting after market radios that I bought for the model of vehicle.

I bought them all from Crutchfield.

Don't get me wrong, user error on my part is always a possibility, but it is such a simple process.
Be interesting to see if others respond the same. Thanks Bivouac

If all else fails try crutchfield electronics here’s the link...... https://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspx?lp=/car/outfitmycar/mycar.aspx they got diagrams, mount depth and everything else you need to know. I’ve used them for years using for guides on head units and speakers, wiring connectors so you don’t have to butcher your wiring etc ....got great customer service too

There are few companies on the planet better to deal with than Crutchfield. In fact, maybe nobody better.
