Dash Cup Holder Ram Ball Mod

So I really liked the ram mount bracket available for the 98+ Tacoma, but it doesn’t work with the 95 because of the cup holder and the slight different shape of the bezel. Unfortunately the cup holder itself is too flimsy even when closed. So I took it out, made an aluminum bracket to replace it and installed ram balls. It’s only a proof of concept at this point. If I like it, I’ll make a new one and really take my time.

 

Looks nice! You wouldn’t be wanting to get rid of the e old cup holder would you? I’ve been looking for one for ages.

 

Unfortunately it was a failed experiment… there is a reason I know it’s too flimsy to be used as a mount. Have you checked eBay?

 

Ah that’s too bad. Good on you for experimenting though. Ebay had a bunch of cup holders for the T100, but nothing for the 95 & 96 tacomas. They are pretty difficult to find.

 

Well now that I know that I wish I wouldn’t have experimented on a nice OEM piece. Found one, but it is $149… crazy.

Are you kidding? Well I guess they may be better than a yeti for keeping you drinks cold in the summer and warm in winter. Sure miss mine
