For those of you that have a Dasaita or Joying HU, or have had one and then switched to the opposite brand.
What caused you to chose one over the other?

With Joying I like the ability to upgrade the ram when ordering. The lack of needing a CANBUS to run the steering wheel controls and/or choosing which button dose what on the steering wheel. The 9” the noobs seem nice and not overly busy to the screen.
Price is about the same for both HU.

The Dasaita has a nice layout with touch screen buttons. The Bluetooth does not seem to be as locked down as Joying when it comes to using with third party OBD2 controllers and etc.

I don’t plan on running and amp but maybe in the future if I find I really need it. I do plan on upgrading the speakers and tweeters with the idea in mind of not running an amp.

I have no factory camera so that places no weight in my decision.

I have heard and read some overall bad reviews for both HU and my opinion is that these could be associated with older units and older software issues.

I have read through the threads on the this form and others but never seen anyone say why they choose one brand over the other.

I know there are other Chinese branded HU but haven’t really been looking at those HUs’.

I chose joying because it had a volume knob.... but also there were no android headunits for tacomas yet and I found the corolla one looked like it would fit, and when I tried it fit like a glove.

I put a Dasaita in my 2019 as soon as I got it. Its never done well for me in the cold, and now all the peripherals stopped working (cams, wifi, radio, etc) so something might have gotten fried. I only use it for CarPlay which now doesn't work so its basically useless to me. debating what to replace it with, but a lot of the Sony/Kenwood options are expensive and dont have multiple camera inputs which I love about the dasaita and run a front cam.

I might try Joying now... and hopefully can get more than 3 years out of it.

that is interesting that the HU did that. There is a member I have talked with that has a Dasatia for the last few year without an issue.

I’m a few months in on running a Joying 9”. It sounds and looks good. I mostly run FLAC files from Amazon music. Installed a front camera which comes in handy in a parking lot. Longevity is something that I can’t address. I do recommend Joying.

What made you chose the Joying over anything else?

The number of reviews and information I could find on the Internet. Gave me confidence that they are a real company vs a warehouse that is buying and selling a private label knockoff. I bought through Amazon which gave me 30 days to return.

There is a video in port. It’s a female RCA Jack on the HU. If memory serves me, it’s one of the far left (yellow?) jacks in the picture.

Okay that's what I was thinking. I was hooking mine up and had no video or an app to open it and found the AUX app but nothing showed up and now that app has disappeared.
