Is there anyway to lock the main display screen on Dark mode?

I found the switch to lock in the day mode, but here in the Pac NW with the normal gloom I find that the screen likes to switch between modes a bit too frequently. I prefer the dark mode. Not a lot of mention of it in the manual.

Cover (or remove) the light sensor on the passenger side dash.
    Test.

It’s in that same menu setting but you need to turn on the lights for the option to pop up on the screen. I did it on mine and it just stays dark mode at all times.

    This was very effective.
I just tossed some gloves over there.
    Thanks.

I found that setting, but for whatever reason on my current 2021 programming, the option disappears during the day, whether the lights are on or not.
So the dark mode is not locked in normal daylight.
I will try to update the system to see if that changes anything.
    Thanks for the response.

Cover the sensor then change the setting.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I did the thing with the lights on, set dark mode and it never went back on my 2021 TRD OR.

My wife has a 2022 TRD Sport 4Runner and we can't get the damned thing to stay on dark mode.
