I'm sure this has been asked before... Lord knows I searched, but I came up empty handed. As proof of that search though, I can tell you that I learned if you press the QI button for 10-seconds, it flashes and enters quick charge mode. :)

In any case, I need a button spot for my anytime camera and the QI button is in a good location for that. I do, however, use the wireless pad on occasion and don't want to lose that feature. Would there be any harm in just pushing the QI button on and stuffing it somewhere behind the dash? Effectively, I'd just have an always on charging pad...

Why in the hell is there a button for it anyway? None of our other cars have one on their pads...

I leave mine on all the time, so I don't see why it would be an issue. I did not know that it had a quick charge feature though!

I like the button for long trips. My phone occasionally overheats after a few hours and its nice to shut it off to cool. Sometimes I store metallic shit in that cubby and its a peace of mind to have it off for that too.

If it were me, I'd relocate one of the buttons to the left side. Like the BSM or window switch or something.

I made up the quick charge feature in another thread as a joke. Please forgive me

I hid the stock USB port back there. Unless you have apple car play/Android auto stock, that usb port is useless. Doesn't charge fast at all, only for media.

I call shenanigans on the quick charge. Regardless, will try it out after work.

I will try the quick charge option, never knew!

Cant you just put your button/switch in the same area as the Qi button? Something like i did?

All of my button locations are taken... and I use the USB port for CarPlay... The only switch I don't think I really need there is the QI button... So, I was just curious if it's safe to keep the QI button "always on."

Wire the anytime switch to the overhead console. Pretend you're a starship pilot every time you push it.

Did you already get the anytime camera kit?

If not check out @FreshMexicanTaco TheTacoGarage store for the kit he offers. Don’t need a button for it, it works with the “mode” select on the steering wheel for the front and rear camera. Has worked great for me so far...

Another option is to keep an eye out on @MESO Shift knob kit to be in stock or another member selling one.

I’m also out of button spaces there after installing heated seats.

I read the "push for 10 seconds for quick charge" so I ran outside and tried it. All it would do is turn on and off. So you got me.

People have had weird problems with the charging pad overheating/warping so maybe not? Anyways to the left of the steering wheel there’s a hole in the dash I would try putting extra buttons there.

I don’t think I would bitch about a ridgeline. Well maybe that the bed speakers aren’t loud enough when tailgating.

    Fine.

I don’t remember the thread but like 5 posts down I said it was a hoax. It was quite a while ago, and it’s pretty damn funny people are still trying that
