Damaged sensor question

    Anyone know what my damaged sensor is? Looks like it's 2 thin wires coming out of the distributor cap and the sensor end of it plugs into the engine under the manifold and freeze plugs (passenger side). I think it's been damaged for ages and the truck still runs fine. No codes... sorry can't get a pic to upload to the site
