Cv axles keep breaking on my 2013 Tacoma. I had a 3.5 inch suspension lift installed about 2 years ago with 33 inch tires. Trying to see if there is a way to mitigate this issue. Thanks

Lower the lift. 3" is pushing it, over 3" and this is what will happen.

If you really want more than 3" lift on these, you need to either get a 2wd or do a dropbracket lift

    Or sas

2 inch lift max to be on the safe side.Get the rest of the lift with bigger diameter tires.

Could I still run 33” tires with a 2” lift?

Either get to below 3" of lift or look into the boot slide mod. Either of which still run the risk of eventually tearing boots. Nature of the beast once you leave stock form.

In simple terms...yes, wheel offset and how much you're willing to cut play a factor.

So this is the suspension lift kit that was installed. To lower it down to a 2inch lift do i only need to change the size of the struts or what else would need to be changed?

Just replace the boots and do the boot-slide mod while you're at it.

I am at 2.7" lift and ran the boot slide mod for for 3 years with no issues.

You can run 33's with no lift if you pick the right wheel and tire.

Lower the preload on your coilovers until you fail to clear the fenders, then raise it slightly.

No reason for excessive lift with just 33's.

that’s probably going to cost like 5x that cheap rough country lift kit.

Haven't measured after adding weight but I'm probably about 1" of lift at this point with tires that measure to 33.2". Wheels are 16x8 0 offset. After a cab mount chop and some reshaping/trimming of fender liner I still rub a bit when stuffed on the fender flare at the top of the wheel well.

Unless you're running skinny 33's like 255's you will probably need to do some trimming but you can run 33s on a stock height truck once you've opened up the wheel well enough.

I’m at 3.5” of lift right now, both my CV’s have ripped open but it’s been a long time coming anyways lol!
