Hello all, I haven't been active on here posting for ages thanks to work and life. However, my poor truck is falling apart on me and I'm trying to get a few things fixed up on it.

First up are the CV axles. I replaced them several years ago with parts store brand ones before I read about rebooting the OEM :annoyed:, anyway, both sides have both boots busted or just totally gone. I do have lifetime warranty thru the parts store but I'd rather replace with better quality if possible, since the parts store ones bind up. Can't afford the CVJ (I think that's the company), besides I don't have OEM cores to return anyway. And definitely can't afford OEM

While looking this morning I found a set on rock auto that claims to be for lifted suspensions. A quick search on TW didn't come up with much on the brand, maybe one to two people used them and the verdict was still out on them. They are the Trakmotive or FVP TO8043XTT. Not sure what the difference is between the 2 brands except about $10.

    Trakmotive

    FVP

Anyone have experience bad or good with these? And also that part number is for ADD correct?

For the record, my truck is an 02 v6 ADD, with OME lift. Don't do offroad much anymore and when I do it's light dirt roads getting to hunting spots. Also don't put many miles on the truck, think its around 5k a year for the last 2-3 years.

    Thanks for any input!

For a parts store axle it is probably the best bang for your buck, otherwise you could try and hit up some dealerships locally or online to see if they have any remanufactured OEMs in stock. They're discontinued for 1st gens but a lot are still floating around. Without a core to exchange I think they cost around $170 each.

Then just use the lifetime warranty. Getting back to the OEM quality is going to be expensive if you didn't keep the original CVs.

I’m currently running the extended travel cv’s from oreillys. I have to say they are so beyond worth it, I HIGHLY recommend.
My truck is lifted in way that makes some people grumpy on TW. (11.5 inch suspension lift). For my application OEM axles do not even bend far enough down to reach the wheels from the diff... let alone have enough travel to rotate without binding. The extended travel CV’s have considerably more travel than OEM, and they have lifetime warranty!
I believe I went through 3 cv axles (the fancy oreilly ones) on my passenger side within a span of a week until I finally got a cv from them that wasn’t put together like shit though. But hey, lifetime warranty. Still highly, highly recommend. Make friends with the workers over there so you can get a discount on them. Get a commercial discount put on there and they come out to around $450 a pair.

I'll be that guy, OEM. A couple of weeks ago I just replaced my 2nd OEM (one on each side) after 40k+ strict offroad miles on my 2015. I wouldn't consider anything but OEM based on my history of wheeling this truck. Both failures were also my fault - Full turn locked and both in bad situations in which I couldn't avoid.
I do wheel with those who love the 2ndary warranty market and they will keep replacing them with a smile.
Do a search here and you'll see the topic has been discussed repeatedly and I also bet you see that OEM is the clear choice if you offroad.
    Good luck!

im on a fabtech with kings and leaf springs set up. Lifted 8” total I think.

I’m in need of some new CV axles… lemme know. Mahalos
